Can an Unseen Crafter work inside a bag of holding?

I've been thinking really hard about getting a portable workshop of some kind so that my artificer can craft anytime, anywhere. Problem is, he's not high enough lvl to create a portable hole.

Then this occurred to me: suppose I have the tools and supplies to build something, then cast Unseen Crafter on it to have it build, then put everything inside a bag of holding. would that work?

I realise I won't be creating magic items like that, but the crafting time for magic items (1 day per 1000 gp) is insignificant in regard to the amount of time you need to craft the regular item (1 week per 40 gp)

In addition, since the Unseen Crafter will be able to work 24 hours, instead of the usual 8, per day, would that triple the amount of work done? or is this one of those occasions where you really can't do more than so much work, regardless of the logic you are trying to apply? (I forget if that only applies to magic items)

Yep. This trick has been around for a while, though usually a Dedicated Wright construct is used instead.

Not sure; the Dedicated Wright has a note in its description that it can go over 8 hours, but I don't remember the exact details and thus whether (A) you can work more than 8 hours on one item or just on 3 different ones or (B) it creates a precedent for other nonliving workers like the Unseen Crafter.

Its also class one cheese. I'd never let it happen if I was DMing and I'd be disappointed if it happened when I was a player.

ymmv, however.

FYI, I discussed it with my DM.

We agreed to allow it to work for the 'regular' crafting, as long as I don't try to use it to make a profit.

With the sometimes insane crafting times, and no downtime to speak of, my Artificer really needs this.

Magic Item creation still requires me to get access to a lab, with or without a Dedicated Wright.

Yeah, the artificer class only works well in a game that contains a significant amount of downtime between adventures - otherwise you need tricks like this to make it work.

On a more rule related note, I'd like to add that I came to the conclusion that, within the rules, the abovementioned solution (Unseen Crafter in Bag of Holding) doesn't work.

The Bag of Holding is an extradimentional (or nuldimentional) space. An Unseen Crafter placed in the Bag of Holding would be outside the normal spell range (which would typically not extend into another plane of existence) and would therefore disappear.
