Can Dextyr Keep All These Strikers Alive? (DM: JoeNotCharles, Ozymandias79 Judging)

[sblock=OOC Ren]

The windows are shuttered closed, and JNC stated that it is a minor action to open the shutters...Unless you intent was to actually smash through the shutters... then perhaps a strength check would be required.

Not trying to rules lawyer or anything here - just wanted to make sure you were aware of the shutters is all

Like a cuckoo bird springing from a clock, Mikara leaps to the window, throwing the shutters aside.

"Cuckoo!"

A single, deadly shaft (just to be clear: that's an arrow;)) flies under the half-orc's armpit and buries itself in Marglespats back as he lies prone.

Just like the aforementioned cuckoo bird, Mikara springs back away from the window, but maintains a protective vigil for her bludgeonous (,buff) comrade inside.

[sblock=OOC:]
Move action: to K14
Minor action: Open window
Standard action:
Evasive Strike, if it's not gone on account of my readied action.
Nimble Strike if it is.

1d20 + 7 -2 (Marglespat is prone) = 25! Critical!

Damage: 25 for Evasive! 15 for Nimble!

Mikara shifts to J15 in either case so she can maintain line of effect on Marglespat while making room for Tonk if he wants to escape.

All these necessary minor actions are screwing up my attempts to name a Hunter's Quarry. Oooooo! that hacks me!

Seeing Tonk fall through the roof, Tristan shakes his head, then goes to the half-orc's aid. He runs to the nearest window, throws open the shutters, dives through the window into a roll on the floor, then bounds across the rest of the room, ending up behind one of Marglespat's cronies. It looks as though his wild rush robbed him of his balance, but the elf stabilizes himself and launches his attack. "Tonk, we need to get out of here."
[sblock=Actions]Ken, I agree with ren - this was funnier. :) But I do think we should try to get them outside. You go one way and I'll go the other?

Move: to M10
Minor: open the shutters.
Standard: Anglic Alacrity vs. Sycophant 2 (J10), shifting to I9 before the attack. Acrobatics to jump through window (1d20+9=14)
Angelic Alacrity: 1d20+7=9, 2d12+4=15. Gah! Rerolling the attack roll with Elven Accuracy: 1d20+7=18. That's better. I was beginning to think Tonk was rubbing off on me! :p[/sblock]

Tonk, you gonna do anything besides the Intimidate attempt?
Yep. That didn't count as an action, did it? It was more of a make the best of falling through the roof thing.[/sblock]

[sblock=Lord Sessadore]Hey, now! Don't blame my boy, Tonk, for the bad rolls. It's all me. My boy is all kinds of half-orc, Herman Munster goodness.[/sblock]

"Hee-hee! Pretty elf lady say 'Cuckoo!'"

Tonk flip-kicks onto his feet. [Move: Stand from Prone]

"What is last thing through mind of poopy man on floor when attack by crazy, naked, forest monster?"

Tonk springs onto his hands, flips into mid-air, and slams his mace down onto Marglespat's skull. [Minor Action: Hunter's Quarry --> Marglespat; Standard Action: Handspring Assault 1d20+6=25 + 2 for prone target = 27 v. AC; Free Action: Furious Assault; Damage: 3d6+4d8+4=38]

"Mace of me! Ha-ha-ha!"

[sblock=Conditionals]
  • If the Intimidate roll counted as an action, Tonk spends an action point to accomplish what was just written, and Tonk shifts to K15, through window (Acrobatics 1d20+9=27).
  • If not, and Marglespat still lives, Tonk shifts to L13 and performs a Disheartening Strike by spending an Action Point.
  • If not, and Marglespat is dead, Tonk shifts to I13 and performs a Disheartening Strike against the sycophant at J12. (Sorry, can't read the titles of the tokens on this borrowed computer.)

Disheartening Strike: 1d20+6=23 v. AC, 1d8+8=16; -2 to target's attack rolls until EONT.[/sblock]

Tonk yells to Tristan. "Yes! I goof good! Need get out much quick! Find punch buddy!"

Oh, hey, the board's back up. Unfortunately, I'm too tired to post much right now.

I might not have as much time to post from here as I thought, so I will try to keep up but if I don't show up for a while, rest assured I'll be back next Monday.

Don't have the PHB on me, but I interpreted the Intimidate attempt as the "attempt to make them surrender" action listed under the skill. I don't recall what action type that is exactly, but I'm pretty sure it's not free. (You can look it up yourself, I'm sure.) If you're not using Intimidate that way, it's a free action and will pretty much just determine how I flavour their next actions. Up to you.

Nah. I wasn't intending it that way, because they have to be bloodied before considering surrender. I just wanted to make them scream so more for comic effect.[/sblock]
