Yes, I think it is becoming very clear what the limitations are for a group of 1st level characters who can't seem to take an extended rest are.
Perhaps resting here was a bad choice.
Personally I think that we should head somewhere where our characters would not be known to go. It is apparent that our current location is known and broadcast on the bounty hunters network. We should head back into town into a busy area to attempt to throw any trackers off our trail. Then we need to head somewhere that is either safe or somewhere where people would not look for us. We really need to get in an extended rest. I am not sure, but perhaps we can go se the zink-zink man at the temple and get some safe haven there. Any other ideas?

[sblock=OOC] Personally, I think this is just Joe's way of testing the limits of 4E to see what a good, balanced encounter would be for a leader and 4 strikers. So far, as it may seem to him, it's been too easy. We completely wasted the minions, then we waltzed through 2 halfling slingers and 3 bandits.

Then we 1-rounded a warforged with some necrotic pions. That was tough, but in the end the only reason Mikara ran into trouble was because she chose the wrong place to start given the nature of the enemy.

Next he sent a hobgoblin with some nasty drakes which actually proved to be our first big challenge. It hurt, but we survived. Right now, I'm in LEB and we just finished an encounter close to the XP value of the one Mikara is in now. The only difference is, my LEB party is Level 4. It should be interesting to see how this works out, and I think Joe is taking notes for future encounters in other adventures.

Or... maybe I'm just ascribing more intelligence to JNC than is due;).

[sblock=OOC]I dunno ... I think the whole point and scheme of this adventure is waves of steadily increasing difficulty. I don't think Joe intended for the first two fights to be very challenging - they were the warmups ;)

However, we are going to need an extended rest sometime soon if we're going to stay alive. Tonk's out of surges, which means every time he goes down again before an extended rest it's less likely he'll be getting back up :erm:

I like the idea of going to the temple to see the halfling. If nothing else, it would give us our reward from the temple ;) The other idea I had was seeing if we could stay at the Daunton watch house (or whatever garrison Daunton has). I think that bounty hunters would find that unexpected, and would hopefully be a bit hesitant to attack us in there ...[/sblock]

We need to get back to town, I agree. Ideally, we get into a building, preferably the temple or a watch building, and seal/bar the door. Also, ideally, no windows in the room to crawl through or at least only murder holes/arrow slits. I suppose this won't stop ghosts, but it'll slow down corporal foes. I agree about the rest, if we can't, I'd suggest Tonk stay back and throw daggers.

[sblock=OOC]...And the Hanged Man is right out, thanks to some halfling hanging up the wanted poster;).

I don't know. I kind of like tonk's original idea about finding that halfling and submitting our own bodies for the reward:lol:. This is getting agonizing.

Sorry if you're waiting for me again - I see a lot of OOC talk which probably means everybody's done their turns.

I have a cold and I'm going back to bed in a few minutes, will probably post tomorrow evening. (That goes for Icy Spire too.)
