Can I summon a horde of shamblers?

I just hit 17th level as a druid, and I think we may have some downtime. On looking over the available spells, it occurs to me that I might want to summon some shamblers for guard duty each morning. After a week of doing this, I'll have about 30 shambling mounds that would guard our compound for for seven months. Is there anything wrong with this plan?

Note that the compound has got a bunch of refugees and other folks in it, who could definitely use the guarding. However, it's in the desert, so the shamblers will lose their fire resistance.

Edit: I just realized one problem with the plan. Why am I doing this in the morning, instead of the evening just before bed? That way, I can always use the spell for spontaneous summoning if I need to.

Also, am I right in thinking that my augment summoning feat would not apply to these babies?

It's Conjuration (Creation), so no.

Bear in mind that they'll be vulnerable to Dispel Magic and will wink out in an AMF, but will not be hedged out by a PfE.

All great points. That means that, when I summon them, I should use my bead of karma to pump up the difficulty of dispelling them. (Our major enemies are wizards who ride constructs and employ ninja-monks; the shamblers will mostly be helpful against the last group).

Hehe... You said hedged out. Get it? Shambling Mound... Hedge... Get it!? Get it!???

Wouldn't that be cubic zirconia? Oh wait, it's not really Latin...

Anyway the only thing wrong with your plan is that you haven't figured out the source of electricity yet. You need to get the Con scores of those mounds into the thousands.

Heh. Do temporary Con points from the same source stack? :)
