Can rogues use a kukri?

Rogues are proficient with daggers of "any type." A kukri is described as a "heavy, curved dagger." So, can a rogue use it, or does "any type" only refer to a normal dagger and a punching dagger?

I'd say they can't since the kukri is an exotic weapon and thus requires an exotic weapon proficiency to wield properly.

A hand crossbow is also an exotic weapon, yet all rogues can use it. Therefore, the fact that a kukri is exotic is irrelevant.

Now honestly, why wouldn't you allow it if the rogue went ahead and purchased the exotic weapon pfoficeincy feat? That seems to work for me.

No, a kukri is an exotic weapon.

If not, why does it say any type of dagger when there is only 2 weapons with
dagger as part of the name (dagger, punching dagger)?

It's a mistake.
