Can you enhance a golem?

What ways are there to make sure your golem (assuming you have one or two) stronger in combat or over all.

My friend is starting a epic level campaign (I'm against it really. you will see why soon) and I've chose to make a golem master.

He is a Gnome Wizard 16 Archmage 5 who specializies in making things. His main combat fix will be his golems, and buffing party members.

I have talked to my dm and I will have 2 Mithral Golems (Shaped as silver dragons :) ) for use in battle. Every character in the group has 1.7 million gold to spend.

What I'm wondering is:

Are there any ways to buff a golem?
It says they are immune to all magic, but can they lower it willingly (if ordered) to? It says treat it as unbeatable spell resistance against an effect.

Are their any epic spells (Or ideas for them) that could make a golem stronger?

What books are those mending spells located it?

Tome & Blood for your last question, dunno about the rest.

Did you check the Gnome Artificer PrC in FRCS/MoF? Maybe that's something for you?

So?

It obeys your command or not? Why would you need leadership here?

Leadership is to attract and lead followers, not to create and command constructs.

By the book my wizard would not be able to create a mithral golem untill level 25, my dm is being leniet though and is letting me. Everyone else is level 22 but I took a level hit from the exp drain in making them.

I really like that gnome artificer prestiege class now that I look at it. I'm going to see if my DM will let it stack with wizard levels for creating golem purposes.

So, anyone know if you can cast spells on your golem?
If not, it makes those mending spells quite useless.

I don't think golems can lower their magic immunity. Even if they could though, any buffing spells would cease to affect them when the immunity went back up. Each golem type can be affected by a couple of spells, I believe the repair spells in Tome and Blood are effectively added to the list of spells that can affect a golem.

Depending on how generous your DM is, you might be able to get away with giving your golem armor and a weapon. Enchantments on the armor and weapon should still work since they affect the items rather than the golem itself. Golems don't have weapon or armor proficiency feats, though, so unless your DM allows you to create custom golems with those abilities, the golem might have significant penalties.

A golem is a creature, not equipment. :)

Yes, but if you create one, you control it. It doesn't matter what your Leadership score is, nor does it matter what your Charisma is.

Similarly, you don't need Leadership to control a simulacrum or a subject of a charm or dominate spell.

I could have swarn I saw a epic spell seed that increased an objects hardness or something like that. Fortify doesn't mention it. I guess they are immune to all spells then. Anyone have any idea on how you could give a golem an intelligence score? I really like the idea of my gnome being a creator of sentient beings.
