Casting Orb Spells into Anti-Magic Fields

Yeah, I'd argue that it was some sort of gravitational anomaly or planar rift or somesuch. It may or may not make sense in real-world physics, but I could see it happening with in-game "physics."

Hmmm, what page does it discuss in-game physics in D&D? I must have skimmed over that within the past 7 years.

Seems like you are either trying to apply real world physics to D&D, or make up some sort of D&D physics that works one way for some things (orb of fire), and another way for other things (orb of force). In either case, RAW doesn't support your line of physics.

As I said in the other thread:

The simple change is to make these Evocation spells. That means they do not ignore SR or antimagic, nor would they be "permanent globes of pure force cluttering the ground after a battle..".

You can keep the no save, ranged touch attack as you like. Or not.

Just change the spells to Evocation.

I'd love to know what the other 9 are..... :D

Actually, I was originally going to say, "the most counter-intuitive thing in D&D", but then, I just KNEW someone was going to then come along and say, "Oh, yeah? Well, what about rule X?" So I left some room for those, too. :)

I'm going to include in an adventure somewhere a children's playground, complete with a pit filled with leftover orbs of force :)

If they orb is created and propelled into someone/something... Isn't it basically "ammunition"?
So if it hits, it's destroyed... and only half of the ones that miss would be recoverable? Doesn't sound much like 'clutter'... Maybe 1 or 2?

I could definately see a Living Spell (Orb of X) being drawn to and collecting all of the newly permanent orbs just like itself. Such a collection would certainly grow in time and perhaps the Living Orb would grow in power....................
