Round 490

Old Penny thwacks Krusty with her tail (rolled 47) for 19+15=4 points of damage, disrupting the spell-like ability (14 Concentration check). Old Penny takes 3 fire plus 4 unholy damage from Krusty's flaming body. Old Penny has 171 HP remaining.

Krusty dodges the gout of acid (natural 20 Ref save) and takes 25-20=5 points of acid damage. Krusty has 122 HP remaining.

Evilhalfling[sblock]Old Penny can use breath weapon next round.[/sblock]Gansk[sblock]It appears that I may have been incorrect about my previous belief that an untrained skill check is the same as an ability check. An ability check is essentially an untrained skill check, but that does not mean it goes both ways and an untrained skill check is the same as an ability check. I could find nothing that states that a skill check is an ability check with ranks and other modifiers added. Please let me know what you think about this.[/sblock]

Round 491

Krusty misses the first punch (rolled 32), but that was just a feint to set up the punch to Old Penny's franistan (natural 20, 36 to confirm critical hit). Krusty inflicts 29-10=19 bludgeoning, 3 fire, and 3 unholy damage. Old Penny has 146 HP remaining.

PJSlavner:[sblock]I don't quite follow. Are you saying that there is no evidence to support that the golem could make an ability check to substitute for an untrained Concentration check?[/sblock]

Gansk[sblock]I am saying that the golem can make an untrained Concentration check and not fail automatically. A creature with no Constitution automatically fails Constitution checks, but I am saying that an untrained Concentration check is not necessarily a Constitution check, even though Constitution is the relevant ability. I was wondering what your opinion of this is.

Also, Who's on first, What's on second, and I Don't Know is on third.[/sblock]

PJSlavner:[sblock]Yes, I believe that the golem can make an untrained Concentration check that will not automatically fail. I think I read that undead get to substitute their Cha bonus for skills that require Con, but I don't think that applies to constructs. Krusty would still only have a 15% chance to cast fireball defensively if the Con bonus is considered zero.[/sblock]

Gansk[sblock]I agree. I wish I realized that when I was in charge of the inevitables, although it probably would not matter because the spell-like abilities they were usually casting were above level 5.[/sblock]

Penny will breathe again
Death By Nibbles!

She is planning tail strikes at +10 PA
inter spaced with breathing when possible.

compress till she wins or drops lower than 70 hp?
