Character Challenge: Attack + AC = MAX

Technik4

First Post
For fun I thought I would post a challenge for anyone who digs such things. Its not a straight-up challenge because there are some wacky requirements (to hopefully make it fun). Here goes:

12th level Character Challenge
Paranoid Parker plays a paranoid Human Archer (named Seth the Suspicious). Despite almost never getting hit he is always looking for ways to maximize his AC, and as a result his attack bonus has been horrible. The DM has given him a free redo to re-create Seth with any combination of classes (as long as they dont incur Experience Point negatives) but he must remain Human and he must use his starting ability scores (which he can then add his level bonuses to).

Parker rolled 4d6 (re-rolling 1s) 7 times:
17
15
14
14
13
12
7

The DM told Parker if he used the 7 he could raise his 17 to an 18 before the game started (at level 3). Parker was too paranoid about having such a handicap that he dropped the 7. Since this is a rebuild, you can choose to start with the 18 by keeping the 7 (but the DM ruled it cannot be placed in Charisma, which Seth has shown to be at least average so far, but any other stat can be the result of a recent debilitating accident).

Additionally, the DM has ruled that he must keep at least 5 ranks in any skill that he has used noticably in the campaign which makes these skills mandatory 5 pointers:

Escape Artist
Listen
Sense Motive
Spot

Finally, since Parker has made such a big deal out of using this feat every combat, he must be rebuilt with Dodge. Additionally his marquee item, Portable Hole, must be factored in for his wealth by level (which is otherwise as a 12th level character). The DM allows the following books in his homebrew campaign:

The Core 3 (PHB, MM, DMG)
PHB II
All Complete Books (Including Complete Psionic)
All Environment Books (Stormwrack, Sandstorm, Frostburn)
The Expanded Psionics Handbook
The Book of 9 Swords

The winning build will be the one with the highest combined Ranged Attack Bonus and Armor Class. Good luck and Have Fun! (and if this is the wrong forum, I hope it gets moved fast!)

Note: I did this build from memory, no books in front of me. I know that the rec wealth for 11th level is 88,000. I don't remember 12th, but I assume I have about 80,000 to work with since Seth will have to have a portable hole. The items I present add to 78,870gp.. not counting the portable hole.

Seth the Suspicious

Human, Ranger 2 Paladin 2 Fighter 8

Str 15, Dex 24 (17 + 3 levels + 4 Gloves of Dexterity), Con 14, Int 13, Wis 12, Cha 14

Notable items: Mighty (+2) Composite Longbow +2, Mithril Chain Shirt +4, Animated Heavy Steel Shield +2, Dusty Rose Ioun Stone, Amulet of Natural Armor +2, Ring of Protection +2, Vest of Resistance +3, Boots of Speed, Gloves of Dexterity +4

HP: 97 (personally, I would invest in more Con, or maybe improved toughness... but Seth needs dodge and combat expertise for the purposes of this exercise)

Saves: (already very good, but easily boostable through a cloak of charisma and upgrading vest of resistance)
Fort 18 (12 base + 2 con + 2 resistance + 2 charisma)
Ref 17 (6 base + 7 dex + 2 resistance + 2 charisma)
Will 8 (3 base + 1 wis + 2 resistance + 2 charisma)

AC: 39 (10 +6 dex +8 armor +4 shield +2 natural +2 deflection +1 insight +1 haste +1 dodge +4 cover) Seth uses his ride ranks to take cover from the warhorse he rides when attacked. Seth may also use Combat Expertise in melee combat for up to 5 more AC, add in fight defensively for 3 more (tumble ranks)... so 47 max, but in a situation Seth doesn't want to be in.

Ranged Attack Bonus: 26 (12 base attack + 7 dex + 1 weapon focus + 1 greater weapon focus + 2 ranged weapon mastery + 2 enhancement + 1 haste)

Full Attack: +26/+26/+26/+21/+16 d8+8 (2 str +2 enhancement +2 weapon specialization +2 ranged weapon mastery)

No penalties for any cover or concealment short of total.

The damage isn't all that, but he'll be able to full attack most every round, spread the damage out across multiple targets when needed, and also, not draw too much attention to himself... since it sounds like Seth doesn't like to be hit. Seth will be reliable, consistent, if middling damage.

Feats:
Human Dodge
1 Point Blank Shot
Rng1 Track
Rng2 Rapid Shot
3 Precise Shot
Ftr1 Weapon Focus (Longbow)
Ftr2 Manyshot
6 Improved Rapid Shot
Ftr4 Weapon Specialization (Longbow)
9 Combat Expertise
Ftr6 Ranged Weapon Master (Piercing)
12 Improved Precise Shot
Ftr8 Greater Weapon Focus (Longbow)

Skill Points: 80 skill points, 25 used to pick up the skills you required (escape artist as cross class) 10 used to get 5 ranks of tumble cross class, 15 used in Ride. 30 free for the player to choose

Bottom Line: 39 AC + 26 attack bonus = 65 total
