I have a new email address, if you could REPLACE knowthetoe@earthlink.net w/ mattburleigh@comcast.net on the group email list I sure would appreciate it.

If I were you, I would just pick the date, either the 13rd or the 20th and set it as a firm date. At that point people can make plans to the yea or nea. Chances are niether weekend is going to exclude a larger number than the other. Just my .02 :)

Well, thalmin has the final say on what dates are good for GP. He said that he's checking on the November dates.

Given the choice, I would opt for Oct 23rd or Nov 13th, erring on the side of the 13th so Pb can make it, assuming both dates are good for everyone else. See how much we like you, Pb? :D

Of course, if the 13th is only good for Pb, then, well, tough noogies. :p

buzz, I know a few people from the RPGA who might be able to run an event or two. Should I direct them to this thread?
Please do!

Can just anybody sign up for an RPGA event?

Buzz, I am not sure who can run RPGA games, but I will direct a few people over to this thread. Have we firmed up a date yet for the Gameday?

I think that the lack of a solid date is a reason some GMs are not stepping up to the plate. I agree with KnowTheToe that it would help. I also understand that Thalmin has to get all of his ducks in a row before he can give a good answer as to which dates are available. My opinion is that Oct 23rd would be the better choice due to the following facts:

  1. It is farther from the “Holiday Season” which absorbs more time, money, and energy then a black hole.
  2. Those who enjoyed the D&D day will be more likely to be interested in coming back next week for a bunch of new events then to remember to return a month later. Meaning that we will most likely see a greater boost in new / first time attendance on Oct 23rd then Nov 13th. Good for both Thalmin and the Gameday.
  3. With the Games-Plus auction on Oct 7th – 10th, we can attract more participants for the same reasons as the D&D day above.
  4. Having it on Oct 23rd puts the Gameday two weeks after the last local Con (Conception) and two weeks before the next local Con (Rockcon). Nov 13th is right after Rockcon and two weeks before Thanksgiving and the Local Con on Thanksgiving weekend (forgot the name). Due to timing, I believe Oct 23rd gives more breathing space to those who would wish to attend, in both a financial and scheduling sense.

Well, there it is. It is amazing what 2¢ will get you nowadays :D

My apologies to Pbartender, no offence intended. I hope things work out either way.

Extremely good point; the 23rd is back to the top of the list. Pb, re-arrange your overtime! :D

It's in thalmin's hands now. :looks heavenward:

As a already signed up GM both dates look okay for myself, but 'Zilla has some good points, especially the one about the 13th of Nov being close to "the holidays".

Of course, I will admit, I like Oct 23rd because it's also closer to now then the 13th of Nov is. :p
