Choose Your Favorite Weapon

Swords are popular. Bows as well; we know this. What gets used the most, though? What weapons are most popular in your groups or for your characters?

Rapier. How'd you leave that off of there?

Weapons? Who needs weapon? The new game we have no one uses a weapon, no one carriesa a weapon. It's all about the punches and kicks.

Whip. Especially a whip as a secondary weapon, paired with a sword or other primary weapon.

Well I have trouble picking favorites. I tend to play wizards and bards. My wizards carry staves my bards usualy use swords of one kind or another...rapier or long sword usualy.(Although my wizard had a very interesting set of flaming darts..)
But you've got no listing for axes or maces or flails or anything like that.
Really I like all weapons but if I was going to make a melee combat oriented fighter/paladin type probably sword. I have often thought about a staff specialist though. I DO like blunt weapons. and Archery is a neat idea.
So overall I'd say Sword, Staff, Bow as my biggest favorites,

Longsword. The classic blade of knighthood, valor, and munchkins like me.

I would have liked to select both bastard sword AND bow, but, nothing in this world is perfect...except for maybe Baldur's Gate 2.

Personally, I like the naginata, the yataghan (a turkish sword with a slight S-curve), rapiers and bastard swords. The rest of the gang? Bows, longswords, twin shortwords, bastard swords, greatswords... the usual fare.
