We just happen to enjoy the game environment, which you publicly addressed as, in your opinion, rather detestable--does that make us belligerent to voice contrary opinions?
I NEVER SAID ANYTHING BAD ABOUT PLANESCAPE.

Good lord, was the entire Planescape line a series of picture books?

Ultimately I voted for Sigil during the last round (and the instructions were clear, at least for those people who bothered to read them) because I haven't read Freeport, though I have read a number of good things about it. Unfortunately, I already have my plate full with interesting RPG books I haven't read yet...

So what you're saying is that only the Freeport-lovers were ... unattentive ... enough to vote the wrong way?

I don't believe that for a second.

If anything, I suspect Freeport got more votes than it should have, because I find it just as likely that some Planescape fans voted the wrong way, and there were way more people voting for Planescape.

A new poll would just crush Freeport even more.

I agree that many people didn't read the instructions and voted opposite to how they should have. I don't know that it would have changed the results, but in my opinion it still spoils the vote... therefore invalidating it.

So what I'd like to see on the top of each thread and voting time is when the particular topic is set to expire and the next one to start, that way I can keep an eye out for it.

You are in luck! All the city survivor polls had just that. There was a section just below the poll results that stated when the poll would close. They all now say "This poll is closed", but there you are. Next time be sure to look for them.

Yay Sigil! Yay Lady of Pain! (But not too much -- don't want her thinking you worship her!) Yay DM fiat!

The Lady of Pain has nothing to do with DM fiat and everything to do with horrible game design.

Stange, that is not what I said so I'm not sure what you are agreeing with. But hey, go ahead and think that if it keeps you warm at night.

For the erroneous votes to have had any signicance for the outcome, 1 out of 4 pro-Freeport voters would have had to make the mistake. And none of the pro-Planescape voters.

I find it not very plausible that 25% of the pro-Freeport voters would make that mistake. And therefore the outcome would not have change, and so the vote is valid.

And hey, it's for fun, labeled as humour. Either way, it won't change what people think about the other cities, and Freeport is highly regarded.

It's a bit of fun, so why the sour grapes?

Everyone out of the bicker-pool!

1. Don't ascribe motivations to other people. If someone does ascribe a motivation to you, feel free to correct them but try not to be hostile about it.

2. I've got to think that the same proportion of people screwed up their vote. C'est la vie.

Anyways, back to fun conversation - but please don't grumble or argue about inconsequentials. If you want to do that, there's about three wraithstrike threads over in the rules forum. :D
