Nope. High stats don't make a character heroic. Low stats do make a character unheroic. When your Fighter is no stronger than average and would lose an arm-wrestle at a local bar (probably at least someone at the bar has 14 Strength, and he has 12), your Wizard is dumber and less learned than a decent percentage of the peasantry and many craftsman (since Craft uses Int and most people do have a 14 somewhere, assuming 3d6 for an ordinary person), your Bard is less persuasive than the local prostitutes, you just aren't heroic. It isn't reversible--you can have 30 Int or 30 Strength and sit on your arse, and the stats won't make you heroic.Emirikol said:Do stats make a character heroic?

Yes.Emirikol said:Do stats make a character heroic?

Just go with the premise. It's like if someone wanted to play a truenamer, and was asking for suggestions on how to build the most effective truenamer possible. You might feel that almost any other class would be a better choice, but that doesn't help the guy who wants to play a truenamer.wayne62682 said:None of them. By the rules a character whose highest stat is 13 or less is considered "unplayable" and qualifies for a re-roll. And yes, stats do make a character heroic.
While that's an interesting question in its own right, I was hoping for the discussion to focus around characters that would be effective in a campaign which has lower ability scores.Emirikol said:Do stats make a character heroic?

Agreed on both counts and the order. *applause*brehobit said:Warlocks are probably the least stat needy class I know of.
