Cleric's alignment

First Post
Okay, for a D&D fan-fic I'm writing, a Cleric of Pelor and a Bard are both tied to spits over large pits filled with flame. They have just been told their steaming flesh will be eaten and their freshly drained blood drunk by a large group of Kobolds, and then told they will be eaten as they are cooked alive.
Now, if the spit burns through, and the Cleric and a bunch of Kobolds fall into the flames, would he still be good if he used the little flaming freaks as grenades to throw at the other kobolds, and then picked up a huge peice of flaming wood and slowly but surely set all of them on fire so that he and his friend could escape?

Edit: Took out the whole stabbing the lead Kobold thing.

If that was a viable strategy to let them escape, yes.

Good?

Well, if you're in combat with a group already, surely there's no harm in throwing one combatant against another. However, the slow methodical lighting on fire is not really in keeping with the spirit of good. It seems like an unnecessary form of torture, I mean, if the cleric has time to ensure that each kobold is on fire, then he has time for a number of other, cleaner options.
