Close Quarters Combat

New DM, new group, new outlook on close quarters combat. They seem to believe that a person with CQC can get a free AoO everytime their opponent tries to initiate the touch att that starts the grapple.

1) So spellcasters / manefesters trying to deliver a touch spell get a crack upside the head first for their efforts?

2) Once engaged in a grapple a person with CQC can upon a made grapple ck, back up 5' and await to use his CQC AoO as soon as the other guy closes?

3) CQC will allow you to att a person coming in for a touch attack/grapple, the attack is a imp trip, if sucsfl 1 free att at prone target + repeat when he tries to stand.

Nope. Only when then enemy attempts to grapple you. No other touch attacks trigger Close Quarters Combat.

2) Once engaged in a grapple, a person with CQC can, upon a successful grapple check, back up 5' and await to use his CQC AoO as soon as the other guy closes?
Assuming he attempts to initiate another grapple with you, yes.

3) CQC will allow you to attack a person coming in for a touch attack/grapple, the attack is a improved trip, if successful you'll get 1 free attack at prone target plus an AoO when he tries to stand.
Again, only if the enemy's trying to grapple you. Otherwise, yes, you'd then follow the standard procedure for an AoO, including possibly tripping him. On the issue of the second AoO when they attempt to stand, it's important to note that it's fully possible to attempt to grapple someone when you're prone (though that'd probably get you smacked with Close Quarters Combat again, if the person still has AoOs left for that round).

In a nutshell, Close Quarters Combat is only of use against grappling. No other forms of touch attacks trigger it at all. It's basically the counter-feat for Improved Grapple/Improved Grab/etc.

Sejs nailed it right there.
