I thought I'd get top 3, but oh well. I still had a lot of fun making the map. Next time I'm just going to copy and paste everything instead of doing everything by hand to save me some time. Thanks for having the contest Morrus. You guys should have more like this.

You were robbed man. Yours was my top pick, after my own, of course.

I appreciate it, but I don't think I was robbed. Its personal preference. Apparently people prefer Photoshop-styled maps a lot more over hand drawn ones. I know my colors and such were drab and the map kinda plain, but I did that on purpose because Ryan said he wanted something old school. If I knew this was going to be opened up to EN World as a vote, I would have done something more like the Castlemorn map I worked on:

Did you use any sort of "vector graphics with layers" type program in making your submission?

No. All Photoshop CS3 (I'm beta testing it) and Corel Painter IX. Well, technically sometimes I create an alpha mask in Photoshop... What I'll do is write up my process and add a tutorial in the Art Forum.

This Castlemorn map is very nice. I'd love to know how you did it. I use Corel X3 and Painter IX (and considering Painter X), though I likey would also use something like Fractal Mapper for symbols.

I decided to put this to the vote, American Idol style!

helium3 - Dude, your seas were kinda pitchy man. It really threw me off.

kensanata - Was that English? I couldn't understand a single word of what you said.

jvisgaitas - It was a bit too cabaret in its starkness.

Ryan Nock and Sean MacDonald - It wasn't good dude.

Sabu Taru - The map was alright, but it just didn't flow for me man.

Resistor - Being a resistor is a fine profession too.

alleynbard - It was good, but not memorable. We're looking for great here.

TogaMario - You're just not there yet dude. Try again next year.

Rick Hershey - The colors were kinda flat.

HALL and PBartender - If I could somehow combine your maps together I think it'd be a winner.

Tovokas - I like you. You're unique but you're also an old soul. It's a yes!

That was fun. Nice maps, all.
I do think that the best map won, but all of them were pretty darn good.

Now, can we un-sticky this?

Thanks, -- N
