Complete Adventurer & Races of Destiny Prestige Classes (from Sharn)

Ponies just means a small horse not a youg horse and riding dog's are like labs not war dogs which are like wolfhounds. The theif-acrobat is that a base class like in 1st ed. or a prestige class?

It's a PrC. Hopefully, a significantly-revised one...although admittedly, the ability to stand up from prone without provoking an AoO is certainly nothing to sneeze at these days of spiked chain madness.

I'm still waiting for the PrC that can perform Crouching-Style leaps into the air.

@ Whizbang: We're discussing about Races of Destiny, the cover you posted is from Races of the Wild.

The actual RoD cover is:

It's hard to say with such a small picture, so here's a bigger one:

I suppose the illumian could be the green-lipstick gal...

Sigh. I was really pleased that the art had moved away from the punkish angle. :\

Don't get me wrong, the quality of the piece looks pretty good. But that particular character looks like she belongs in Vampire: The Masquerade as envisioned by Joel Schumacher or Luc Besson, not in fantasy. (That or she's a cenobite clown...)

Regarding the Warpony:

The reason it's not the favored mount is that it's too big.

Think about it. Jel pointed out that the mongols rode ponies. And the mongols were human-sized (being human and all). Fantasy-wise, the traditional rider of the pony is the dwarf, who are still medium in 3rd ed. by comparison, we have the halfling, which averages just above 3 feet. physically, they're seven-year olds with hairy feet (or pointy ears, depending on who you ask). They'd need a stepladder to get on. Wardogs of a better size, and they have the bonus of being more exotic than a little horse.

Lol, exactly. Who says there's nothing goofy about monguls? I can just imagine those monguls riding their little ponies with little ribbons in their braided hair. :)

Ah, the sweet, sweet smell of the Valley Girl mentality.

(Pre)Historically, the equine family have had members as small as a wildcat, and as big as modern-day largest's stallions, with all the sizes in-between.
