Unfortunately, yeah.

I watched the first few episodes and gave up in disgust with the utter cheesiness of the show. I mean one episode had characters that were using arrows with modern flourescent fletchings that were probably picked up cheap at the nearest Wal-Mart!

Later though, I was able to watch the last episodes of the show by not taking it seriously. Plus, I always enjoyed watching the skull talk back to the BBEG. And the show was better when they ditched that fat guy with the fake axe for that black guy. He was a cooler character.

I didn't even realize there was a live-action Conan TV show. It didn't help that the cartoon was also called Conan the Adventurer, which seems to have been better than what's being released on DVD now. If only they'd given the cartoon higher priority for release...

Either. Was wondering whether I should give it a shot.
Meh. As with all fantasy-themed television series, they don't last long for a reason, Xena and Hercules being the exceptional flukes.

Buy it if it's in the bargain bin, or persuade your family or friend to get it as a gift.

I thought you were talking about the cartoon also, I never even heard of the live action series, sounds like I didn't miss much however.
