Conclusions after three play tests

Well, take the hobgoblin soldier, it has 20 ac and 16 reflex, so to start with, the rogue needs 9 to hit, while the ranger needs 14.

The Ranger should be using his at-will, Careful Attack, on his turn instead of his basic attack. It's a +10 vs AC and does the same damage as his basic attack. That means he only needs a 10 to hit the Hobgoblin.

I see nothing in the text of the fighter's Combat Challenge ability that suggests it can only mark one person at a time.

Only that a CREATURE can only have one mark (the most recent one).
I'd originally interpreted the fighter's mark differently, that "new mark supercedes old one" means that if the fighter marks a new creature, it ends his old mark. But now, rereading it, I know that phrase was in reference to the target, not the user. However, the paladin can explicitly use Divine Challenge on only one creature at a time, and the fighter is limited to who he can reach in melee.

The careful attack on the pregens was apparently in error. The actual attack is +10 to hit, but only does the base d10 damage (no +4).
