Core Classes that IMO are lame

Well, get rid of the spells for the cleric or sorcerer and they fall apart as classes, too. The classes were built to sort of balance each other so take away a major part of that class (spellcasting is a major part for all the classes that have it) and the class will no longer hold up top the others.

We really should get back to beating the dead horse. It's a lot more fun than whining about the bard. Indeed I can't even begin to be bothered about the bard until the ranger has been fixed. The thing that gets me the most about the ranger is how sad it is. I mean I love the concept of the ranger. You can smell it: R-a-n-g-e-r. It's so cool and you get to wear a cloak. BUT the class so utterly stink. It doesn't have one single feature I like about it. Well perhaps I like tracking. I won't bore you with how out of place I find the Ambi/Twf, spells, FE or any of that.

I will however add something new to complain about. The skill Wilderness Lore sucks. I mean that skill is the most important part of the ranger and then it turns out to be worthless in a normal scenario. If you hunt and forage as part of your overland movement you can only move at half speed. Now, which self-respecting party is going to wait for the stupid ranger to forage his food when it's easy as cake to either carry food with you or conjure some chow? The foraging is also so very inefficient. The poor ranger-sod can't even feed the whole party whilst foraging so even if the party is prepared to wait up they still need to get more food. In the ELH you can learn that foraging at your full movement is DC 40! Indeed. What's the point of such a non-ability?

I gotta admit the Wilderness Lore skill is bad. Its only really usable for Tracking, which is weird, since thats another feat (I find it weird to make a skill that you need a feat to get good use out of).
Create Food & Water gets available rather fast, so once the Ranger can make that DC 40 check, its a useless ability. It should be a DC 15 or 20 to gather food while moving at full speed. I think the Ranger should even be allowed to have higher speed when moving long distances (not combat speed, like monk & barbarian. The Ranger is supposed to be good in the wilderness, when going for long walks).

Tjena! Hür är läget?

Let me dictate the rules of this topic...Again, and I'll write it in simple words so YOU ( and YOU know who you are ) can understand it.
Since when is it a prerogative of the thread starter to dictate "rules"?
1 +0 +0 +2 +0 Sneak attack +1d6, death attack, poison use
Death attack is way too powerful to have as a 1st level ability. The assassin prestige class can get away with it because it's a prestige class, so it's really more of a 7th level ability (since you need to be a 6th level rogue or the like before you can go Assassin, IIRC).

Since now.

Once again, Shivamuffin makes excellent use of his feat "Sundering Logic" :)

Seems people still havent been finished with the Ranger. But, again, it is the most discussed class, so no wonder.

I have no special grudges against the bard, even though a few more skill points wouldn't hurt....

LOL....

Well that about covered complaints then...unless somebody has a good one...!?

I like the 2e bards, and kinda like the 3e bard. The sorc. spell use is pretty cool. I would have liked to see more special abilities instead though. Once again that's IMO.

I have seen some interesting things done with the Sorcs. Some have made systems that resemble psions more than wizards, using points etc. It makes good sense for sorcs, more than using the same system as Wizards. Since they can simply vary their powers. I was actually thinking of using Michael Morris system, perhaps even the five colors. Dunno if you seen it....
