The D&D "Survivor" Continues! We're going to vote core D&D deities "off the island" as it were, until only one god remains.

Last Round, Nerull met his maker... and the people rejoiced.

So far, we've lost:

Round One: Corellon Larethian & Garl Glittergold
Round Two: Lolth & Yondalla
Round Three: Vecna & Kurtulmak
Round Four: St. Cuthbert & Bahamut
Round Five: Tiamat & Pelor
Round Six: Ehlonna & Fharlaghn
Round Seven: Erythnul & Boccob
Round Eight: Gruumsh
Round Nine: Nerull

Who's going to go next?

From now on in, only one deity will be removed each round. It gets a little messier now, baby.

You can vote from a player's perspective, a DM's perspective, or anywhere in between. Have fun, kids. All the deities here are taken from Deities and Demigods, so there are a few that aren't found in the PHB. But, you probably know who they are, anyway.

Who will be the most-liked (or, more accurately, least-hated) deity of the core D&D religions?

Tough call at this point. We basically have everything you'd need for a complete pantheon, if you expanded the portfolio's just a tad.

I'd vote for Hieroneous at this point. He's a god of combat, which is somewhat duplicated by Kord, but Kord es mas macho.

Yeah, Oli has to go. He's always been a god that just annoys me. Every other god on that list is one that is at least partially decent (although I'm a bit confused why Moradin survived the racial scourge). Olidamarra? No way. If I was going to play a thief, I'd take a god like Wee Jas or something. Even Kord (who, after all, has luck as a domain).

Hmmm, weren't there gods of thieves in Hyperboria or Newhon?

Sure, I have no problem with gods of thieves per se, but now that we're narrowing down this list I figure he's gotta go. Deities in D&D are primarily resources for the cleric class, and rather useless for rogues (making a thiefy roguey cleric is kind of hard).

On an interesting note, in real life the Chinese deity Guan Di (aka Kuan-ti, Kuan-yu, Goan Gong, and a few other names...) is popular among both police and criminals... it would be neat to have a God of Justice who is also the God of Crime... the "crime" aspect would be persuading him to turn a blind eye.

That's a lot more interesting than Oli, I'll concede.
