Corporate Defiance

Vincent sighs once again, their first mission hasn't even started and he's already getting the feeling that he isn't going to like it. "Let's try to be at least a little discreet about this hm? We don't need to go in and kill everyone."

At Vincents comment, Krandor lets out a vicious Trandoshan laugh; to human ears, it would sound like somebody choking. "From Caine's wordssss I would think killing everyone iss the goal. He turns to Caine. If you and Ssssector expecct usss to pull that off on ssuch sshort noticccce then we'd better get the ssupport we need. Can you stage a dissstraction several blocks away? I don't want anyone noticcccing the noise from Mjolnir." Upon mentioning his blaster, he gives a large Trandoshan grin and pats the object on his back; to all appearances it is a simple atmosphereic container, used by aliens that need supplements in the air other than what naturally occurs. He turns to his new squad members.

"Anywayssss, we need to divide into clear roless ssso that we dont get into any conflict when it getsssss to crunch time. I'll scare or kill the people we run into. I'm good at that." He shows a bit of his teeth, and it is rather frightening. He points to Vincent. "You look like a human that likes computers. What do they call them? Ssslasherss? Dicerss? He shrugs. The he angles his 6 inch claw at RC. "You carry the bombssssss, I'll carry the grenadesssss. Are you any good at sssssabotage?" Whatever her answer, he shrugs, and looks at Rath. "Ssssssso that leavess you and I to help the wounded. Or cause the wounding." Then he notices Rath's pistol, and grins. "Isssss that your only weapon? I guess if we run into any womp ratssss, you'll have it covered." He hisses his amusement.

Cydarius smiles slightly at Krandor's joke. As usual, alien humor didn't translate very well. "Don't worry, my trandoshan friend. My pistol and I will find a place to fit in." Turning his gaze back to Caine, Cyd cocks his head quizically. "So when you say "infiltrate," do you mean do this quietly? Or do you mean get the job done, by any means necessary?"

Krandor shrugs. "Hmmm.... what is that human phrase? The more grenades, the merrier. Anyways, if all they have is thugs and out-dated attack droids, it should be a cakewalk."

"All right, then," Caine comments. "I have Sector business elsewhere, and I'm sure you don't need me hanging over your collective shoulders while you make your plans." He gives a stiff nod, and heads for the door to leave.

Cayla sits quietly for a moment after Caine departs before looking at the rest of you. "I had best get started," she says in a quiet mezzo-soprano tone as she also stands up. "I'll be checking over the Trast A-A5 and make certain that on-board systems are ready for our departure. If you need me for anything else, don't hesitate to signal my comlink or just come over to the workshop." She, too, heads for the doorway and leaves, moving across the hall.

[sblock=OOC Note]I'll make a post tomorrow, hopefully, detailing the specifics of the Gentech facility and what the team can expect to encounter, at least according to Sector Intelligence. Sorry again that I took so long with my part -- work has been very difficult these last few days.[/sblock]

R.c.

"Works for me." Chipes R.C. as she pushes herself off the wall. "If anyone needs me I'll be checking out the new workshop."
With that, she leaves the room and heads into garage (or where ever the workshop might be).

Krandor carefully reads the information and watches amusedly as the others busily scurry off. He walks forward and settles into one of the chairs after first taking off the canister on his back. It seemed to be a cleverly disguised container that both concealed his weapon and acted as a back pack. He pulled his large blaster out, and started going over the rather long process of checking and cleaning each part. It was a weapon with a unique shape and a construction similar to an archiac underslung gatling gun. Along the side of the weapon was engraved the word Mjolnir in an old form of Basic.

As he began the familiar process of dissembling and cleaning his weapon, the only emotion Krandor showed was just a hint of a grin.

True to typical Sector fashion (or perhaps paranoia -- in this line of work, the distinction is an easily blurred one), the data on the Gentech facility uploads to the mainframe, signaling that the mission briefing has been transmitted and received. Only after everyone returns to the main room and submits their authorization codes does the briefing begin.

The Gentech facility is an entire city block in size, and twenty floors up. There were seven floors below the surface ground level -- only six, however, can be accessed. Sub-Level 7 has extensive security measures in place to limit access as much as possible -- in fact, the authorization for Sub-Level 7 access can only be gained by accessing their mainframe directly on the eighth floor, where Gentech’s mainframe and dedicated servers are located, in order to bypass the security systems in place.

Despite those problems, Sector’s intelligence branch managed to obtain floor plans of the restricted sub-level. The sub-level is far smaller than the rest of the Gentech facility proper -- approximately 100,000 square meters. The layout of the sub-level is broken up into nine areas, in a 3x3 square pattern, with hallways, ventilation and such separating each subsection. From all indications, it appears that destroying the sub-level will be fairly simple: each subsection of the sub-level has significant quantities of varying kinds of highly explosive chemicals.

Since Gentech isn’t as secure a facility as MarTech operations, intelligence shows two potential points of entry for infiltration: one on the rooftop through the ventilation system, the other through a third-party transport for re-supply. The main ventilation shaft leads down through the center of the building, but only to the ground floor. The transport delivery would leave the team in Sub-Level 1’s loading docks, where security is virtually nonexistent. Whichever the method of insertion, the requirements are straightforward: eighth-floor access to the mainframe to bypass Sub-Level 7’s enhanced security, followed by utilizing the elevator shafts to descend to Sub-Level 7 and gain access.

Security on Sub-Level 7 is comprised of ten CIS battle droids, five CIS super battle droids, and a pair of droidekas (neither of which possess on-board shielding), remote-controlled through an uplink in the central subsection of the sublevel. Security on every other floor is smaller: five CIS battle droids and two CIS super battle droids. Computer terminals are also secured to a point, although mainframe access will bypass the terminal security.

Exfiltration would be the same: through the main ventilation shaft to the rooftop, or through the delivery transport. Detonation of Sub-Level 7, assuming all goes well, will occur once the team has successfully exfiltrated, barring unforeseen circumstances.

The objectives of the mission are to access the Gentech facility’s mainframe, and access Sub-Level 7 to rig it for demolition. Other objectives will be set, subject to circumstances should they arise.

[sblock=OOC Note]Like I said in the OOC thread, with the holidays coming up I'll admittedly be slow because of work and the like. This info-dump gives you all the information you'll require to complete your mission, so feel free to discuss the situation amongst yourselves. I may pipe in occasionally with Cayla, but otherwise I'll leave the decisions to you all to make. Once you seem set on your course, I'll make the next big GM post.[/sblock]

Vincent leens back in his chair and sighs after the breifing is finished "We should go in through the roof, less risk of being spotted, and it's closer to the first objective. How much of this facility do they want us to destroy anyway?"
