So I am in two campaigns, first one is on Wednesday nights, and the other is on Sunday nights. I decided since I am chompin at the bit to play 4E, that I wouldnt get too attached to any 3.5 chars I am playing right now. So anyways, I have sorta a reputation for being a cough*powergamer*cough in my groups I play in. I cant help myself , it never starts out that way, it just starts happening around 5th or 6th lvl. =)
I have this shifter ranger/fighter/weretouch master I am playing on Wednesday, mainly cuz I wanted to play a shifter before 4e came out, just to see what they were like as I have never got to play one yet. I have been having a blast with him, and I am not really trying to, nor am I really pushing to make him really powerful, I am just having fun roleplaying his personality, as much as I am having fun with his combat basaddery.
In my Sunday game, its set in Eberron. I coudnt figure out what to play to help the group out, and was having a serious mental wedgie going thru the books of 3.5 , so I made a first lvl Aristocrat so I can play at least. He has d8 HP, 4+Int skill points, nice skill list, and well max gold is 480. I bought things as a starting character, that I would normally never buy, with the extra money. I decided to go with Int 17, and Char 16 my two highest stats. I also wanted to try something new with this char, so I tried out the Favored In House feat, and Heroic Spirit from Eberron Core book. I have a good Diplomacy, many Knowledge skills, and my sense motive is maxed. I went with House Deneith, it was something the GM was working within his campaign as one of our benefactors so I went with something known.
But the thing that is the most fun about the character, is that the rest of the group thinks I am up to something, that I have some grand scheme set up with the GM, I couldnt possibly be playing an Aristocrat, such a USELESS class I was told by one member. So I told them I was going to lvl him up til we switch to 4E. hehe, I think that I am having more fun playing this char, then I have any other powerbuild chars I have ever played, just listening to the wild speculation of what I truly am, one guy even thinks I am a Vampire, since I come from Karrnath.
I just wanted to share my gaming experiences with all of you. I also want to say that I am really excited about 4e dnd coming out in 7 months, but I still have alot of fun gaming with my friends in the 3.5 world.
