Coup de grace when prone?

Yes, it should be possible in general (maybe not in your specific case, tho, hence the issue with being asleep and dropping weapons).

Only prerequisite would be to be able to reach a vulnerable spot, which is obviously given if the victim is lying next to you.

The -4 penalty is irrelevant, since you don't strike as quick as normal, where your prone position is a huge disadvantage, but you take your time to apply the blow, which can be done while prone the same as if standing.

That all depends on if you instantly collapse & relax your grip mid swing, or (as in my imagined version) you sort of slowly grind to a halt as you're drained of energy and fall asleep. (In which case you'd sort of droop to the ground with your sword still in hand and it would only sort of tumble out of your hand at worst rather than shooting off in some direction)

Fair enough. We do not really know what it looks like because it is not real life.

Of course, the spell is instantaneous, hence, I view that as "instantaneous", not delayed.

My entire issue with it is that dead, unconscious, and asleep are worse conditions then stun, hence, they should minimally have the same or worse penalties.
