Are we going back to hawks / dire hawks / legendary eagles then?

I suggested "the Hawk Lord can summon 10d6 hawks, 3d6 dire hawks or giant eagles*, or 2d6 legendary eagles", and I'm considering dropping the Giant Eagles.

That's fine, but we're back to "what in the SRD can we use to fill in for those without access to legendary eagles"?

Well Dire Hawks aren't in the SRD either.

Why did we drop the paragon hawks? Just the low number of hp? They seem like a logical fit.

If I remember rightly, it was because they are a lot better than the Cat Lord's Dire Tigers.

Maybe it's too much of a stretch, but rocs could work for the legendary eagle substitute.

I did wonder about Rocs but was afraid they were just too big.

Hmm... comparing their stats Rocs aren't that far off from Dire Tigers, so maybe they could work if we lowered the number a tad.
