Added to Homebrews.

The Alternate Form ability is in red because we need to "3.5ize" it.

Something like this...

Alternate Form (Su): The Hawk Lord can assume the form of a beautiful human woman, a human sized hawk, or a bipedal hybrid form with prehensile hands, wings and hawklike features. Changing to or from animal or hybrid form is a standard action. Upon assuming either form, the Hawk Lord regains hit points as if having rested for a day. When in animal or hybrid form, the Hawk Lord gains the use of Blind-Fight, Multiattack, and Power Attack. Likewise, her ability scores change: Str +X, Dex +Y, Con +Z. See the separate statistics block for the Hawk Lord's abilities while in hybrid (or animal) form.

Agreed to that.

Can we drop the perfect shape control bit, since it's not going to be a lycanthrope?

I was assuming we would.

That doesn't look so 3.5ish, actually. I didn't think you get hp back from changing forms, usually (at least I don't see that in lycanthropes or the standard alternate form ability). Gaining the use of feats is I guess close enough to the lycanthrope's getting ability modifiers instead of the new form's abilities that I'd be ok with it. But where do the hp come from? Just wanting to keep close to polymorph? I'd rather not do that. Just not 3.5. ;)

I'd be happy to cut it out, I was just keeping changes to a minimum in the first draft. If the original Cat Lord could self-heal by switching between cat and human forms, it would render its "healing licks" pretty superfluous.

I suppose we should work on the summoning bit. She can summon hawks, and we list dire hawks. Just suggest using the ToH dire animal template? There also looks to be an intermediate option missing. Can you think of anything?

Bloodhawks could work.

There's also a dire hawk in Races of the Wild.

Expand it to other raptors? Giant eagles, for example?

Bloodhawks don't have official 3E stats if I remember correctly. We've got a 3.0 conversion in the CC, but I don't like it much - not nasty enough.

Freyar already mentioned Dire Hawks.

Not sure about Giant Eagles. Are magical sapient animals in the remit of an Animal Lord?

Hmm, we could use the Paragon template from the Epic Level Handbook and give her Paragon Hawks (or Paragon Dire Hawks)?

They do. They're in Fiend Folio.

Blast it, I forgot they're in the Fiend Folio. I remember seeing their picture once I checked that book. Oh well, that should learn me to rely on my fading memory.

Hmm, the 3E Fiend Folio Blood Hawk is pretty close to a homebrew version of them I did, except for the Wounding special attack...

Anyhow, a Blood Hawk is hardly tough enough to be a worth ally to an Animal Lord. It's CR 1/2 and the "Hawk Lady" will end up, what, Challenge Rating 15 to 18 or so?

That's why I suggested using the Paragon template for the summoned hawk servants:
