The wolf-fish would be an Aquannine(Aqua-nine)

I also had an idea for an aquatic animal, part-manta-part-whale shark-part elephant. Drew it too

How about my hydrimera; part dire shark, part feline sea lion (now sea cat), part giant squid. It's ink clouds turn victims to stone.

My iblishi, or sea kobolds, resemble a kobold with the skin of a blue-spotted stingray; yellow with blue spots. They also have wing-flaps like a stingray.

Me I just use Manta Rays as is - Giant Mantas are just so fraggin' cool!
(I did a super hero once based on a Manta Ray - a japanese guy called Manta who could fly, breath under water and had a whip that delivered an electric burst).

Another creature idea I once had was a giant deep sea Angler fish with eight crayfish legs - imagine this
zban.deepsea.fish-big.jpg
as a collosal creature attacking your PCs

and does anyone else think that Sea Cat is a dumb name for the Sea Lion?

The more the merrier. Might I also suggest you invest in a saltwater aquarium? :D

I would if it wasn't so frigging expensive over here in sweden, so I stick with freshwater aquariums so far (Have a 81 liter community setup in the living room, and a smaller amazonian setup in my lair.)

Also, I am sad to hear that your aquarium crashed.

On a side note, I checked out your site, but I can't access it's library, what gives? Or could you please post your aquatic creatures somewhere so I can take a closer look at them?

Tonguez: They changed it cause a sea lion is a real creature (it's a type of seal), but I agree that the new name sucks.

More suggestions, please.

Yurisi are militant amphibious creatures, resembling an ankylosaurus and a bear.

They are mainly an underground race, but not in the same way as Drow may be, they burrow and make lairs in the hard sand under beaches, then when creatures wander on to there territory, they strike, pulling them down and suffocating them in the sand. Not all Yurisi live in the sand, the larger, or elder of the species live in the water, or sometimes in outlets in the underdark. Another place that they dwell is underwater; groups of Yurisi can take down whole galleys in a matter of minutes. The Yurisi’s armoured shell has small opening that act as gills, some of this air can be kept in pockets to be used as a buoyancy add.

Combat
Being an extremely number reliant (In there humble opinion though) race, they prefer to attack in groups, flanking, distracting and backstabbing.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, the Yurisi must hit a Medium-size or smaller opponent with its bite attack. If it gets a hold, the Yurisi grabs the opponent with its claws and drags it deep underground, attempting to rend it and let it suffocate. Yurisi can still rend underground.

Rend (Ex): If a Yurisi hits with both claw attacks, it latches onto the opponent’s body and tears the flesh. This attack automatically deals an additional 2d6+9 points of damage.

Tactics (Ex): Due to extensive team training the Yurisi gain certain benefits when working together, when ever flanking an opponent they may distract it and make it incur an AoO, all Yurisi are taught this trick, but other may learn additional tactics at the DM discretion(advised maximum of 3)

(All my "stuff" is going to be 3.5 compatable as of me buying the 3.5 monster manual.)

Are you still wanting ideas Krishnath? Just in case you are, here are a few:

Salt Spirit, Outsider or Fey or Elemental.
Appears as a figure carved from salt but can dissolve into a form (I suppose) that would be like a gaseous form. Probably give it dessication abilities.

Aquatic Angel
Angelic being with large fins instead of wings.

The Emerald Weapon, Construct probably (epic?)
Sorry but I had to get a little final fantasy reference in. This is a huge elemental construct-like creature that is spawned by a dying planet as a natural defence. It looks a bit like a robot, a bit like a golem, a bit like a frog, a bit like a fish and a bit like a submarine (not really but I don't know how to describe it :D).

Paradise Fish,
A brightly multicoloured fish able to entrance creatures with it's scales and induce nitrogen gas euphoria (and damage) in creatures.

Styx Elemental
Evil water elemental with powers to remove people's memories.

Living Tsunami
A hugely powerful mischeivous aquatic gnome or pixie (small or tiny) that can transform into a gargantuan or colossal pulse of water (when angered) and has superior magical and elemental beings.

Reef Swarm
When fish turn nasty and get a hivemind. :p

Roc Ray
It's a really, really, really big ray...

Zarathan (might have got that wrong)
Did anyone ever convert the Turtle Island thing? (i'll find out it's in a core rule book now probably :p)

I'll stop for now I think...

You mean the Zaratan, you can find it in WotC's arms and equipment guide, as well as the Axebeak and some new monsters... :)

QUOTE]

Tahitian myth has two 'sisters' - Aremataroroa (Long wave) and Arematapopoa (short wave) they are 'monstrous waves that destroy mariners'. I've used them as a Large Water Elemental Druid and a Medium Water Elemental Scorcerer in the past...
