Creature Incarnations - Kobolds!

Man, imagine if the Monster Manual were full of articles like that.

Okay, sure, it'd be 1600 pages long and cost $300, but so worth it.

And I'm such a whore for monster manuals that I would buy it...

Love this article! I really feel that the new Dragon is living up to the standards of the old. My favorite articles were the Demonomicons and Class Acts, and of course the various monster features, so it's nice to see them return in style.

As an aside, the Kobold Wild Mage's Wild Teleport should probably read "immediate reaction when damaged," instead of just "immediate when damaged."

Another thing - the Kobold Chieftan is only doing 1d8 damage with his battle axe, when he should be doing 1d10.

right, they probably forgot that the chieftain is medium in size and not small :D

But, even small creatures wield the same battle axes as medium creatures. They just have to wield it in two hands since it is versatile. Maybe some 3.5 crept back into Mearl's head?

Monster damage isn't based on the same rules as PC damage.

This is true. Most of the other kobold's weapons do the damage shown in the PHB though, although the Kobold Warpriest's mace does 1d6 instead of 1d8.

Loved the article. I hope they make a racial PC writeup for kobolds soon like they did with the Warforged to go along with this article.
As do I, but I've added one feature for kobolds, since they are becoming playable races in a campaign I am designing: Swarm Tactics - when they use aid another on an ally, it grants the ally a +1 racial bonus on the relevant results.
