Storyline: Knights of Onwyn
Arc: The search for Golden Eagle

Previously:

Xaal, Tiefling Knight Aspirant of the Compass Knights has journeyed to the nearby Isle of Credmoore to Meet Bouda, Knight Daughter of the Great Mother. Upon meeting they discuss briefly their aims and find themselves of one mind, to quest and gain further glory for their orders while uncovering what became of an ancient warrior.

Known Facts About their Mission:
500 Years ago a Human Warrior named Golden Eagle rose from tribesman, to solider, to adventurer. At the behest of King Ganyard he cleared the borders of Greetland of a trio of powerful dragons.

Thought little is know of his prior or subsequent exploits, it is believed that as an old man he went upon a quest to slay one last dragon, the white dragon Acerrix. His success is unknown.

Most agree that he is buried in a tomb with a mighty magical blade and that his sister's library was built nearby. Both would be mighty boons to the Knights of Onwyn.

Though the location of his tomb is unknown, legend tells that there are clues in the lairs of the vanquished dragons, which seem to reside in the county of Greatlyn.

That wilderness has once again run wild with monsters, bandits, and the undead.

A mul named Moon Wolf seems to be on the same trail only a few days ahead, and may have some ancestral ties to the Lord Golden Eagle.

After exhausting the local rumor mill and their not inconsiderable knowledge of history, the two questing knights have set out to the east, hoping to uncover the former lair of the green dragon and possibly encounter Moon Wolf on the way.

Turn 2

You have ridden for nearly two days, making good time through the idyllic countryside. Yesterday's ride was essentially a jaunt through the park, today's started similarly, but as it nears dusk, the lands have certainly gotten rougher.

The last farm you saw was an hours ride behind you and it's windows had been boarded up against intrusion. As the sun slowly sinks into the west, Bouda spots a trio of animate corpses attempting to hide behind a scraggly bush. [They might have remained hidden but for the buzzing insects that seem to be swarming around them]

They see your approach and charge out of the bushes, strips of skin get caught and tear off on the leaves.

***[You are mounted, you are not surprised, I will post a map once your initiatives are rolled]***

To arms, Bouda! To arms!!

Xaal draws his khopesh and spurs his warhorse on to trample one of the vile beasts or, if not appropriate, to lop its head off.

OOC: Battlemind's demand on target, Whirling Defense at-will attack.

This my first post - trying to iron out kinks.

Bouda yells: "To Love and Protect!" (OOC: let me know if that battle cry sucks,) and rides up to the zombies. She moves 8 squares up and 3 squares right.

Bouda Divine Challenges Z1 as a minor action.

Bouda then raises her hand and casts Hand of Radiance targeting all three. The order of the attack rolls follows the numbering of the zombies.

ZoBouda's holy light rocks zombie 1 and 2. The flies buzzing around them fall dead in droves. Zombie twocharges bouda and attempts a savage smash.

OOC: Even though this won't hit any of my defenses, we should probably make a habit of including the target defense in the roll description.

Doesn't really change anything for me - Xaal moves, marks (Battlemind's Demand), and charges Z2 (moving to square T18) mounted as per post #4. (Technically it looks like Z1 goes before me, too, but again, shouldn't impact my move.)

Next action: Dismount and attack Z2 w/ Whirlwind Strike.

Shouldn't make a difference, Bouda - Whardell has our characters (well, he has mine, i'm assuming he has yours...) and he's got the bad guys - so he'll have to tell us how successful we are I suppose.

Also, he's good with making a post including what you believe your next action will be based on current circumstances, but without the rolls. If the action can go off, he'll post the roll. Otherwise, he'll describe the break in the action and you can repost your action.
