Nope. Absolutelly no one here is a victim. People may be dissatisfied. But CR is delivering on everything they promised. Some people may not think it's the best way to do it. but none of that makes someone a victim. Also, saying that someone should learn how to read because they didn't understand what was really happening in the KS is rude. But being rude is not the same as being abusive. Your feelings, as I said before, are valid. That doesn't change reality though. Having your feeling hurt sucks, but doesn't make you a victim (at least not by default).

Yeah, that's pretty obvious. I'm not trying to be a dick about it, but c'mon, no one is loosing anything here. The kickstarter was never about preordering a show, it was about funding a show. The show was funded, we got at least another season of it already garanteed and they chose (they had absolutelly no obligation to do this) to let backer see the two first episodes first and for free. And they will get them. Calling people in this situation victims is trivialising victimhood.

Your 22 minute special was already an entire season by the end of the Kickstarter. Please stop misrepresenting the details of the Kickstarter.

Have to admit that @Shardstone raises a good point about Amazon owning Twitch. Also, since CR has the e-mail addresses of all the backers, and if they are going to make you sign up for Amazon anyway, they could have simply given digital credit. I mean they already have that built in. I regularly get a dollar of digital credit when I opt for a bit slower delivery from Amazon.

While I find his outrage a over the top, he does have a point. It wouldn't have cost much for Amazon to find a way to do a bit more for the backers. It would have built goodwill. Some would still be upset by having to create and Amazon/Twitch/whatever account, but much of the controversy could have been avoided.

Not sure what CR could really do about this. My sense has always been that they really care about their fans and they they ran a great, above-board Kickstarter. I'm very happy that they were able to land this life-changing opportunity. I am personally not upset about the free-trial-account delivery, but Amazon missed an opportunity here and unnecessarily upset many people.

There is a wider community of people then those in Enworld. Their comment was clearly aimed at anyone jilted at this choice of action, not just those in this thread.

I don't think the only price for a second season was the course of action Critical Role has taken. Amazon did not need to enforce this scummy, roundabout method. Critical Role should have tried harder, and made it clear they were trying harder, to negotiate for a better deal for their backers.

Man, while I know I have been speaking with strong language towards Critical Role, I have not tried to disrespect anyone in this thread like you have me. I think its best if you and I stopped this conversation, since you seem desperate to insult me repeatedly — a tradition I'm starting to see is common here on Enworld.

While I agree the subscription services are inherently scummy, this is better than the model they have for literally every other show on their service.

It's not an insult. The complaint is for something Kickstarters don't do and this kickstarter in particular didn't do.

What some of us seem to be overlooking is that Critical Riole has a btand, that brand has a value, and values inconsistent with that brand hurt the brand - and that brand is partly based upon them being good people that want to do right by their fans.

This is not on brand for them.
