critique my drow fighter

deedlit, that should be classed as trolling, taking the **** out of me trying to play a good drow, incidentally not much like drizzt........why did you even reply, old joke which wasnt funny the first time it was told.

I don't think Deedlit was really that out-of-line. Just let it go.

Chillwind, I can't believe you missed Daylight Adaptation from FRCS. You might want to take it as your third-level feat, instead, then Weapon Finesse at fourth level.

If you ever plan to take the Harper Scout PrC, you're going to need a couple levels of Rogue or Bard (the skill requirements are pretty demanding). If so, that first level of Rogue (to max out skill points) is really helpful.

A couple of suggestions.

A level or two of rogue wouldn't be bad (skills + sneak attack + evasion at 2nd), the extra damage from sneak attacks is especially nice if you are using multiple weapons, since you get it with each weapon's attack.

Second, start working towards the Spring attack chain, it can help your survivability substantially to be able to move-hit-move away.

Third, Power attack is also a must have, especially since you are going to have a relatively high attack bonus and your weapons don't deal out a large amount of damage on their own.

Finally, unless you have some compelling reason, if possible I would swap Charisma and Int. As a fighter you get relatively few skill points and you need at least a 13 Int to be able to take "Expertise" which can help your AC substantially.

I wouldn't bother with improved initiative for the moment. It's nice to have, but you have other feats that would be of more immediate use to you and you'll get plenty of feats as a fighter. Weapon specialization would be of much more use to you with the multiple attacks and your relatively low damage weapons.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way...

But I highly recommend you re-think your character concept. In the long run you'll be happier and more satisfied with a character you created on your own. I'm assuming that since you are playing an RPG, you're fairly imaginative and it won't be a problem. If you really feel the need to play a good aligned drow on the surface, then I recommend you choose a completely different angle, rather then copy something that's already been done.

Anyway, once you've chosen a solid character idea and concept... what feats and such that you need should be fairly obvious. On this issue... I'd go with what fits the character's personality and not what is most powerful. You'll have a more interesting character for it.

Why doesn't someone play a good drow born on the surface who worships Eilistaree.

If I ever were to play a drow, it'd most probably be a bard and follower of Eilistraee! :)

The shield bonus is from the Shield spell (under equipment, Drow house symbol).

I wondered about that (don't have LoD, maybe it's in there).
Is this a permanent shield spell!? Or is that limited somehow?

Having the shield spell as an item is already bad enough (there's a reason the spell is personal and only available to a Sorcerer/Wizard - yes, I know that everyone could use an item made like this), but it would cost 98,000 gp if it were a permanent effect (twice as much, if it doesn't use a slot)!

ok, i have a lot to answer for.

firstly, the drow house amulet, its only usable once per day, dont worry. so for 1 minute per day, i have the shield up.......shield is actually one of the examples of typical 1stlevel spells it gives for the symbols.

ok, the background for the character isnt actually done yet, i just made up the above background on the spot last night (dont worry, i didnt like it either). the idea of being a drow from the surface is very good actually. if anyone could help me with this i would be grateful.

eventually i am going for the prestige class tempest, so feats are needed, hence no multi-classing out of fighter, unless there is a decent reason.

stats rolled were:
16
14
12
11
10
6
then i had the +1 stat enhancement for level 4

i dont really like daylight adaptation, it is useful, but it takes away one of the main personality points of being a surface drow, its just an elf who is particularly hard then.

deed-lit, i am not going good drow rogue or wizard because the party needs some melee support.

any more suggestions/questions?

No you don't. Just because some people here, think "Drizzt" everytime someone whispers drow doesn't mean you have to. The guy doesn't even have to exist in your campaign. As if 90% of the people here don't play characters based on archetypes. Hell, just the fact that you stuck to your concept and are playing a fighter with Ambidexterity and Two-Weapon Fighting rather than taking a level of Ranger to get those for free is pretty damn sweet. Bravo.

Yes. Play/choose whatever you think would be fun. Something to consider would be Power Attack. Since you have a high Dex, Weapon Finesse, and a mediocre Strength, Power Attack would be a nice way to give you a boost in the damage you dish out. Too bad your Int isn't a little higher, or I'd say go Expertise all the way.
