Sorry, the Cockney in me can’t resist it......
“Take a captain at this captain.”

For non-Londoners, including Americans, I’ve just recommended you get this excellent RPG product!

Take a Captain Hook (ie a look) at this Captain Cook (ie book)
I’ll get my coat...

Seriously, Cubicle 7 are great, so I’m up for this setting.

I am guessing it was just artistic license having both protagonists apparently be left-handed, as those are the hands that hold the pistols. But being left-handed was heavily suppressed in Europe and the US until some time into the 20th century, with people born left-handed being forced to learn to do everything with their right hand and to not use their left hand. I still like the cover, but being left-handed myself, that little thing really jumped out.
I mean, it has elves and ogres and stuff! This is not a historical book!

I like the idea that the heroes/magic users are left handed only. I don't know why but I just do.

Sadly, in some parts of the world, including supposedly civilized parts, left-handed people are still treated as evil or followers of the devil. The whole dark magic, evil, left-hand path thing. But it just stood out to me because the game is set in Victorian London and not a made-up fantasy world.

Thinking campaign ideas:
  • Buffalo Bill Cody’s Wild West Show opened in London in 1887. Something could have come over with him from the New World?
  • The first Sherlock Holmes novel was published. Based on? ( in this setting)
  • As above for both She and Allan Quartermain by Haggard
  • Queen Vic’s golden jubilee
I mean, it has elves and ogres and stuff! This is not a historical book!

I know: probably the reason why I liked the Left Hand idea as good thing is because the Heroes would technically be misunderstood by a majority of the general populous. It's a hard knock life sometimes with no recognition.
