[D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

The crash of lightning puts an end to Vatan's forward rush. As his eyes recover he sees the brute smoking at Pier's feet, and Pier as surprised as he is. Seeing that the brute is down he quickly reverses his direction to aid his fallen comrade.

[sblock=Actions]

If all this back and forth will allow him to still have a standard action, that action would be to administer the healing potion to O'Beth. If not that is his action next turn.

An orb of energy blazes past Druthruss and slams into the shaman's chest as a pained howl echoes through the streets outside. The shaman pauses as the meaning of the sound becomes clear, and he looks at the dwarf blocking the way with desperation in his eyes. Knowing he is now alone, he takes a weak stab at Druthruss, but the dwarf easily dodges the blow while still keeping the orc trapped inside the building.

[sblock=OOC]It's really all semantics at this point. He's dead if you want to kill him, or captive if you want to imprison him... either way, it's time to move on.

r1's new character should be with Sahyr at the tavern, which has been boarded up and fortified against enemy attack. Many of the townspeople are also inside, but not many are equipped to put up much of a fight.[/sblock]

He thinks about the position but the orc is a shaman and Druthruss has had a poor time with them so far and fears for some sneaky wizardry. Orcs are scum and worthless and so far theres nothing to suggest there not here for any reason other than just raiding and that taking him as a captive would give us much. Also, the team look bad and when he entered the room the fight was still on and he does not know it has stopped yet and were not supposed to be publicizing our travels here so I think, all things considered, he would finish him off and make a sure thing of it too with an extra blow or two before preparing himself for more fighting by looking around the door arch to the state of the battle outside.

If there is time after that I think he would see that the party are in a poor way and go back and search the shaman since if anyone is going to carry magic and possible healing bottle, it would him.

Sahyr had found his way to the inn after chasing a band of goblin scouts halfway across the countryside. After finally dispatching them he made his way to the nearest settlement, at a loss to the location of his previous comrades. Hopefully he'd find them, but if not, surely other battles were afoot.

Unfortunately, the inn was boarded up due to the fighting outside once he entered, and he was not stuck inside, pacing in frustration like a caged animal, eager to get out to the fighting, particularly if his allies were outside in danger.

[Apologies, I had been looking for a post from R1 to play off of, since I didn't find one I waited a bit and decided to just post in case I was confused and holding things up.]

Druthruss continues to harass the shaman, keeping it pinned inside the small building. Finally, the dwarf lands a killing blow as his axe nearly splits the orc's skull in two.

The shaman is indeed carrying two potions of healing, but the rest of the crew seems to be free of loot.

Andri appears from around the corner, thankful the ordeal is over. "Please," she begs. "Can't we get to the inn now, I am sure we will be safe there!"

"Please, good woman, we will take you to the inn, but first let us tend to our friends." Pier walks to the fallen Jude and kneels next to him. He places his fingertips on the fallen warrior's forehead and extends his senses. He sighs heavily and says, "His spirit has fled, but it remains linked to the body for a time. Had I the proper materials, I could possibly extend that time, but I do not know a way to return him to life."

Pier gently arranges Jude's corpse into a more restful pose, taking care to cover the wounds with the remains of his clothing and armor. "What of the priest? Does he live?"

With a sigh of relief as he watches the fallen priest take a deep shuddering breath, Vatan will reply to the mage "Aye, Master Mage, he lives. It be a close thing, but he lives." He will stand up and survey the scene before continuing "Aye it be a close thing all 'round on this on. It be best that we be headin' to that inn right quick. An' we not be leaving friend Jude to any poxy scum tha' be wonderin' here 'bouts. I will be carryin' him to where we be goin' so someone else be taking tha' lead from here, an' some else be bringin' his kit." He will then go and preparing Jude for carrying.
