[D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

As his companions entered and called for soldiers, Sahyr stepped forward. His massive sword sliding cleanly from its makeshift sheath on his back, the follower of Kord ready for battle.

"We meet again, and you bring battle with you!" Sahyr then noticed the injuries, preparing to use his own skills to prolong the fight.

[OOC: If Sahyr uses his Healing Words now, they'll be expended when a fight starts, won't they?]

[sblock=OOC]No need to use any healing powers now; we'll be taking an extended rest here, so that when we start to battle again everyone will be fully healed. Use this time for a bit of roleplaying.[/sblock]

IG - what is the setting inside the tavern? Number of people, their condition and fighting ability (first glance) and more importantly for Vatan, anyone manning the bar?
[/sblock]

The tavern is full of frightened townspeople. Men, women, and children huddle with their families in hopes that the nightmare will soon end, that they can get back to their normal lives.

The barkeep makes his way over to you. "Put 'im in the back! People's scared enough in here without you remindin' 'em of what's waitin' out there!" He escorts you to a back room where Jude's body won't be the only one waiting for burial.

"They put up a fight, they did. But in the end, there was just too many of 'em. Been four days we been holed up here, and supplies are runnin' thin. I might be able to scare up a mug each for ya though, settle yer nerves a bit."

"Aye, Barkeep, I see that they did indeed. I need apologize for bringin' the body in here, but I k'nae leave a fallen comrade to tha' likes o' yon pond scum out yonder." After placing Jude with the other bodies, Vatan will pat the barkeep on his back. "Aye, an' we be soon payin' the scum back for what they be doin' here. A wee dram or two would help to clear tha' heads for planning our breakout." Vatan will add "Right friends?" as he looks around the room.

Druthruss rushes into the inn like a thirsty man on seeing an oasis. The moment hes over the threshold and into relative safety the tiredness of battle starts to take its toll. On seeing Sahyr he genuinely does raise a smile. "Oh hail there big man Sahyr - you missed some great battles. They were glorious. Glorious I tell you. You missed out on loads of glory... You should come with us and... get... more glory... or something." He wanders past him in a semi vacant way patting him on the knee.

He puts his axe down at the foot of the bar and dumps his backpack on top of it hiding all the blood and bits of orc hanging off of it.

He pulls up the tallest chair by the bar, slumps on it and lets the bar take his weight and starts muttering.

"So *thats* lady elfs name.... Aridha... aahh-riidhha... I better not get it wrong now. In fact I ought to write that down."

O'Beth had been truly melancholy since his defeat at the hands of the orcs. He is ushered about and bandaged without saying a word, even when he should have introduced himself he stood quiet not wanting his name to be put to his misdeeds and his failures.

When the party returns to the tavern he finds a spot alone to brood in and think on what he should do now. Slowly he is lost in the crowd and forgotten by the others who have troubles of their own and a friend to bury.

[sblock=OOC] Not able to keep up with this game. Mainly do to not knowing what you are all talking about. LOL I don't know much on 4e so I need to bow out. Sorry all, glad I could be there to help you all through the fight as best I could. Saved someone from a couple crits LOL :p Good luck with the game but looks like 4e is not my cup o' tea. Aridha shakes her head at the barkeeper. "Save it for when it is needed," she advises. "Four days though? Four days and no reinforcements? Has this land no lord? No protector?"

(OOC - HolyMan, that's a shame. :( You'll be missed!)

Taken aback by Aridha's refusal of the much anticipated draft of alcohol, Vatan looks about the room again. With some noticeable regret Vatan says "Aye barkeep, the Lady Elf has the right of it. 'Tis best left for a better time." as he slumps on to a bar stool beside Druthruss. "I ken ye have someone up top who be ready to do some fightin', who else here still be able to carry the fight to these scurvy dogs? D'ye ken their numbers or why they be here a'tall?"

[sblock=OOC]
Yeah, sorry to see you go. Sounded like Vatan and O'Beth could have spent quite a few nights lying about their exploits over mug or three. Thanks for the saves :D I know Vatan would be in the same room as Jude without your help.

Sahyr looked to the others and to Vatan. "I'd carry the fight to the Orc's god himself, Kord willing!" he announced, raising his blade briefly as he grinned. Perhaps the shifter was slightly insane, but perhaps it was just the kind of crazy that was needed. "The brawler blesses us this day with a challenge, let us not disappoint." He smiled, and as he made his pronouncement, some of the party's injuries healed. (Healing words used on the weakest party members, since they'll be recharged with the extended rest anyhow, the Divinely inspired speech seemed fitting.)
