[D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

"By the hammer of Moradin these scum are gonna pay dear for this day. Well since were not gods theres nothing anyone can do for him now. If this bottled scum muck brewed from the very bottom of the shamans pot will bring him around then I think in that state even id take it. But lets get to that inn where it will be safer than out here cos we cant take yet another bashin for sure. I need a fire and a tankard of something strong."

Aridha picks up what of Jude's belongings aren't on his person, her stern elvish features cast a mask of stoic sadness. She doesn't say anything...any words would be futile, and would only cheapen the moment. Though her wounds pain her, she doesn't wince or limp...trying to honor her fallen companion with what courage she has left to offer.

As the group bands together for the procession to the inn, she does touch Jude's forehead and murmur something solemn in the elvish tongue. Then she hefts his pack and walks alongside Vatan as they make their way towards, they hope, safety.

Andri nervously leads the way to the town square as the others stay close to her, keeping a close eye out for any other dangers--they are in no condition for another fight.

"There,"
she points. A well signifies the town square, and three of the four intersections are barricaded. Thankfully your current path is clear to the boarded building on the other side of the well. Andri runs to it and begins beating on the door. "Let us in! Please, let us in!"

Druthruss hears the familiar click of a crossbow being loaded from somewhere on a nearby rooftop.

"Aye, thrust these cowardly motherless scum sucking bastard curs of the Sea Hag to be wait'n in ambush!" Vatan bellows as he move as fast as he can to cover Andri. He is not very happy to be putting Jude's body in harms way like this but both Jude and him are better armored than Andri. "Get that thrice damned door open and let us in!" he will bellow in support of Andri's cries for help.

Druthruss hears the click and says to the party "Crossbow on roof ! Dammit I am not tall enough, we need to see which one and where." He looks around for some convenient step up to the roofs. Propping himself up against a wall of the nearest house corner he continues, "Lady elf, stand on my shoulders and see if you can see which roof he is on."

"Right now we could do with one of their fire bombs and we should not be caught together as a nice target either."

"Stop panicking," Aridha said stiffly. "I am not going to stand on your shoulders."

She lifts her hand towards the roof, but doesn't otherwise move.

"You there on the roof! If you are not orc, show yourself!"

(OOC - Readying action to blast should an orc appear!)

"Aye, it's the widow Ziuul!" a voice says. The white hair of an eladrin peeks over the rooftop, and his lavender eyes scan the area. "Quick now, get inside!" On cue, the locks click and the door creeps open.

Pier looks about wildly as soon as Druthruss speaks, but upon realizing that the archer is friendly, he relaxes and returns his eyes to the street behind until the wounded and vulnerable are through the door, then he steps through himself into the inn.

Once inside, he quickly takes stock of the inhabitants, and he stays close to the cleric. "Thank you for your help," he says. "I am Pier Glasser, of Port Magalie. My companions are Druthruss, Aridha, and Vatan. The man who was slain was Jude, my countryman." He nods toward each in turn as he helps to dress O'Beth's wounds, using whatever can be found for bandages.

[sblock=OOC]
In answer to HM's earlier question, he was at -1 HP prior to receiving the potion, which, assuming it was a standard potion, would have restored 10 HP and used one of his healing surges, leaving him at 9.

"The orcs are attacking in force," Aridha says after Pier's introduction. "Where are your soldiers? Some of us are still fit to join the fight."

Despite her stoic attitude, the elf is clearly favoring her left side, where a stain of blood has blossomed under her leathers.
