[D&D 4e] IG's "Those Left Behind, Chapter 4(e)"

Shaimon Hu'u, druidic human ranger

Shai frowns as Uulark shares his information.

"Not got a head for business, but we should maybe talk to the kids, yeah? Glowing butterflies don't sound natural, and sure they do sound like a think luring folk about, yes? "

"Well," says Buurt. "There're a lot of things that glow, naturally or otherwise, but..."

"...with kids involved, it's best to be safe and start there first." The half-orc's shoulders rise and fall in a slight shrug, "Best to be wrong and have done something than wrong and not."

OOC: Yes, I'm in agreement. ;)

Talashia scribbles a crude, but serviceable sketch of Caerwyn and shows it around while the others hunt rumors. When the time comes that everyone's looking to question the kids, she nods and brings the sketch along to show them too.

"Butterflies. I wonder if they're anything like those moths we ran into...."

You find Damien Cole with his father at the edge of the woods searching for signs of the missing man. The eldest of the Butterfly Children, he's tall and strong, and hopelessly lost somewhere between a man and a child.

Uulark Simental, Longtooth Shifter Cleric of Sehanine L11

"Hail, hearty men! Has your search been fruitful? I have been in supplication to Sehanine that the man will soon be found to be safe and will be returned to his family." Uulark addresses the boy and his father as "men" to bolster the boy's confidence in himself and hopefully to put him more at ease during this trying time.

"I hope not," Shai says as Talashia makes a tentative connection between the group's encounter in the underground cavern and this newest mystery. "Those critters were nasty. I'd hate to think they have a taste for kids."

As they approach the search party, Shai and Dyspeer linger to the back for now, the rough-edged woodsman knowing others are better at talking, especially at important junctures.
