OOC: You have the light cantrip. Not sure if you want to use that or the torch. Same light effects, but would free up a hand. On the negative, you can't attack with a light spell. Just let me know.

Having rested and meditated over her rediscovered connection to Ilmater, Brue continued her exploration of the cave, wary of the ceiling and looking for further threats. She paused at each stalactite, examining it until she was confident there was nothing laying wait to attack. As she slogged north, the water became a bit deeper, somewhere between knee and waist height. The effort was slow going, the north section of the reservoir was by far the largest part. She began to wonder if she was even inside the wall of Mosstone anymore. Before long, however, the water-level began to drop somewhat, only reaching an inch or so below her knees. In the dim light at the farthest point of illumination, she thought she could make out an outcropping of rock.

OOC: Perception Check. Also, please describe Brue's exploring in more detail if you would.

[section] Brue prayed to Ilmater as she walked. She put away the torch and fumbled her way through a light spell. Once she had the clear steady stream of magical light to see more properly by, she prayed again, this time for guidance. As she walked and prayed, she stopped twice to examine stalactites. She put her hand down to touch the water, wondering whether it felt oily. She took a drink once, too. And she looked up from time to time, trying to judge where she was in relation to the town above, and kept out a sharp eye for another tentacle horror. The genasi fighter made for the rock outcropping.[/section]

OOC: Casting light and then guidance. I believe I can target Brue with the guidance spell because the "Targeting Yourself" section on pp 204 indicates that if a spell targets a creature of your choice, you can choose yourself. The spell description for guidance is, however, a little vague, so if you rule otherwise, no problem. Brue will apply the result of her guidance roll to her Perception check.

[roll0], to be applied to [roll1]

OOC: Oh yeah, you can absolutely grant Guidance to yourself. I see that spell as being cast pretty much anytime someone prays for help to do a task.

Brue cautiously made her way toward the outcropping. As she reached the edge, the light from her spell illuminated what appeared to be the north wall of the reservoir. The outcropping appeared to be about 40 feet by 40 feet and filled with rocky debris. The genasi noticed three ropes anchored to the edge of the outcropping and leading out into the water. Climbing onto the rock, she was about to inspect the ropes when she caught sight of two reptilian humanoids hiding against the back wall of the outcropping. It appeared they were trying to hide, but had failed spectacularly at it.

With the spell illuminating her, Brue could tell the creatures had seen her, but believed they didn't know she had seen them yet.

OOC: Well, their Stealth Check (with Advantage no less) bodes well for you...LOL Stealth Check w/Advantage: 2#1d20+2 3 3

[section] Brue moved to the rope furthest away from the reptilians and started to climb up to the rocky outcropping. She sheathed the longsword to free up both hands.[/section]

[roll0] in case you need it.

OOC: In that case, Brue will clamber onto the outcropping and start investigating. She doesn't hide from the reptilians, but she doesn't stalk them, either. Instead, she acts as if she hasn't spotted them and is merely investigating the rocks. Which, actually, I suppose she wants to do, too. She's here looking for clues about whether the water is poisoned, after all.

The weapon is sheathed. Brue cast light on her truncheon, which should be hanging from her belt. She doesn't head directly for the back wall, but she'll mentally mark the creatures' position and gradually angle that direction. She'll look at rocks here and there on her way.
