How long does it usually take stuff to arrive in the mail in DDO? Looking forward to it. :)

Well I met Felnore by happy circumstance in the game today-- he was only 1st level so mail was not an option at any rate.

I will hop on tonite and see if I can find you; and if not, I'll mail it.

EDIT: To answer your question, mail is almost instantaneous.

Are there multiclass penalties like the real game?

No.

You can multiclass anything provided the alignment restrictions match up ok.

(Monk/Paladin, ok; Monk/Bard, no.)

You are limited to three classes maximum, however.

"Prestige classes" are implemented through the "Enhancement" system-- so you don't need to worry about saving a class for "Tempest Ranger" for example.

There are also some "capstone" abilities for pure class builds.

FWIW, I don't think I have any single classed builds in any of my 10 characters.

(Even my cleric has a level of Fighter.)

Looks like my suspicions are confirmed: The new class is the favored soul.

Limited spell selection, faster casting times, big loads of mana-- it's the divine version of the sorcerer.

It will be a welcome addition to the game on high-level, healing-intensive raids.

(Thanks to GlassJaw for the tip.)

Well, my beta account just expired. I had a blast and made it to level 9 before the ride ended! Whenever they actually do go free to play, I'll be on for sure. There's certainly enough content available to be worthwhile for at least the first half of the game.

Which adventures stand out to you?

Shan-To-Kar (the long underground hobgoblin one) and Stormcleave Outpost are among my favorites even to this day.

Gwylan's Stand is a good one too.

Did you do The Pit?

Never did Shan-To-Kar, unless it's another name for Tear of Dhakaan. That was one massive dungeon crawl. Nor did I do The Pit.

Stormcleave I did quite a number of times - great XP and loot even on reruns. Ditto for Gwylan's Stand, which was a personal favourite.

Top dog for outright gonzoness went to a crazy raid on Tempest's Spine. That adamantine axe you sent me was redonculously good against the iron golems there. Thank you!

I ended up as a dwarf ranger 5/barbarian 2/fighter 2. Oversized TWFer focused on dwarven axes, but if necessary could be very effective with longbow or axe & board. I went for straight-up flat + bonuses as high as I could get on attacks, damage, AC, and hps. I think I was hauling around unbuffed at +21 (1d10+23, 19-20/x3) at the end there, with 29 AC and 180+ hps. I'd frequently end a quest with more kills than the next 2 or 3 players combined. :)

I may be taking some DnD virgins into the game. How well set up is the MMO to handle a complete unfamiliarity with not only the rules system, but also the ethos of DnD itself?
