I'm from Malvern, which is about 5-10 minutes south of King of Prussia. There are a few others in the area, but closer to me than K.O.P., unless I'm mistaken.

I use to live in the area around Villanova, then Conshohocken & I'd walk to King of Prussia for my gaming supplies (It seems Compleat Strategist is still in business.) It is sad how much easier it is to get an idea of the damage done if it's in a familiar place.

There has been another tsunami??

Earthquake. There was another earthquake very near the first one, but apparently no tsunami. Scored something like an 8.7 on the Richter (apparently in the top 10 earthquakes in 100 years, with the last one at #2), with 2,000 dead in Indonesia.

Nell.

Ahah! Blackleaf didn't even get a Fortitude save! I smell a conspiracy!

Her case was before the court ruled that they had to grant those to their customers. A shame really.

As another Philly resident, I can tell you that KYW is only worth listening to for the traffic reports

And school closings!! And school closings!! Nothing says winter like listening to KYW rattle off a list of numbers for school snow days.

God I miss snow days!! Why don't they have those for work? I'm still taking a bus!

Reporter: "What have we here, detective?"

Detective: As if it isn't obvious enough "Three bodies, stabbed to death with a sharp, pointy piece of worked steel."

R "A knife?"

D "Yeah, one of those." Jackass.

R "Any ideas on motive?"

D "Well, we have a man in custody with a signed confession saying that he stabbed to death his ex-girlfriend, her mother, and her child because he was angry that she left him."

R Blah, what else is new? "Anything else?"

D "Nope. Clearly an open and shut case."

R "Hmmm...Hey, is that a Dungeons and Dragons book?"

D "Seems that way. Tucked in the bookshelf alongside the 'Murder for Dummies' and 'Human Vital Anatomy Popup Book'."

R Hot damn! I can spin this to make it look like he was corrupted by that evil Dungeons and Dragons game the Reverand told me was a tool of Satan a few years back! I'll be famous! "Thank you detective, my work is done here."

D "Uhm...sure. Would you mind wiping that drool off you chin? You're starting to scare me."

Too true...

Reminds of an episode back in high school in the 80's. Some kids were sneaking into one of the theater storerooms to play cards or something (drink, smoke, whatever). At one point, the principal called me into his office and led me over to look at the room, because...

A ) my dad was a teacher, and I was deemed somehow "trustworthy".
B ) thru the grapevine, he'd heard about some kids at another school getting hurt by acting out this D&D game. Note - rumor's like this were really common in the 80's
C ) he had heard I was familiar with D&D.

So I get escorted this little storage room. He asks me to survey it to see if it's possible anyone might have been playing "that D&D game" here. There's 4 chairs in a rough circle, a pencil under one of them along with an flattened cigarette butt. There's nothing else there beyond that besides the theater storeroom stuff.

Upon closer examination, I found the pencil was extremely dull, so it wouldn't have been very good for writing down stuff on a character sheet. I basically told him, while it was remotely possible that people were playing D&D here, it seemed really unlikely. Usually, you need a table to hold your books, sheets and dice, so the arrangement here wasn't very good for that. Instead, based on the chair arrangement, I surmised they might have been playing cards, or...just talking... He inquired about the chair formation asking if that could be significant. I just kind of glared at him and told him that it didn't have any special meaning I was aware of, but it would probably allow you to face each other easier for PLAYING CARDS OR TALKING.

I leave. Later that day, I find out from my dad that the principle is now even more convinced based on what I said that they are playing that D&D game back there. Apparently, the "remotely possible" part was all he needed to hear to leap to that conclusion, and mask out any other possibilty.

A couple weeks later they did catch the people breaking into that room. Turns out one of them had a makeshift key and they were playing hooky to...get this...play cards.

Wow lots of Philly people here... I'm from South Jersey near Cherry Hill.

Next time a terrorist blows something up, I want to hear a news report linking it to D&D. "The terrorist seems to have been trying to emulate a 'fireball' spell." That's about as good logic as is used to assiciate D&D with these murders.

Actually he was testing out his new Epic Spellcasting Feat: Nuclear Fireballs.
