Now is like 36 ºC in the city, that beach is always a few grades higher, but it depends mostly on the winds. I remember those cold days in the middle of January, enclosed in the hose, playing D&D with some friends, waiting for the "sudestada" (south cold winds and storms) to end.
*sigh* Those days of infancy and 0 problems are gone, but it's always nice to remember =)

Sub-rural Maine, playing D&D in the autumn months, occasionally going into the forest that was my backyard and climbing my favorite tree, then lounging up there for a couple of hours reading a book.

Ah, those were the days.

In other news...

I want to recreate the success we've had here on other forums, specifically the Play by Post Haven over on the WotC forums.

Thus far, nearly all of the PbPs I've tried to run on other sites have managed to crash and burn, mainly due to my own time constraints at various points, and yet Tragedy at Silvergard and this game, its sequel, have continued for 18 months.

So, what is our formula for success?

Heee...it was mostly a joke.

Used to be, back in the Stone Age, that advertisments for stores would have announcements of low low prices, and someone would ask, with great melodrama, "But how do you make money?!?!"

To which the salesman would reply happily, "VOLUME!"

...

Though I will say that in this case, the success you've had on Enworld could easily be because there is a high volume of experienced and dedicated PBP players here. When you look at the games, you'll see a large core of names that keep coming up over and over. Having a 'core' of gamers who typically join for keeps means that you can weather the inevitable shifting cast on the fringes while keeping the game moving.

So yeah. Volume. :)
