[d20 Future] This is what I am afraid of...

D20 Future will rock on toast. I will fall in love with it. I will get all excited and start planning futuristic campaigns...

...and there will be no futher supplements released for it, WotC instead viewing it as a one-shot expansion of D20 Modern. :(

Say what you want about Alternity, at least there's a poop-load of stuff out for it. Siiiiiggghhh....

[Hi, by the way. First time poster. ;) ]

Sebastian, welcome! I'm going to scoot this over to the d20 game forum and add a d20 Future tag, so folks know what the thread is about at a glance.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I was less excited about d20 Modern, because I can theoretically go live that myself. Spaceships, however, are just plain fun.

Me too. I'm not super interested in d20 Modern, but instead of working on my DnD campaign I've been thinking about the d20 future campaign I'm gonna try to run next!

I just hope my players can come on over with me for the ride.

Nah, there will be some serious support from third-party companies. Don't worry about that.

Really? cos I'm not hearing about a whole lot... I started a thread in the publishers forum to see what people's plans were, so if you got somethign, go post about it! :D

has anyone seen any information/previews on D20 Future aprt from just what's on the WotC "Previews" column...

a few other members of my gaming group just got wind of it and are extremely interested in checking it out... as the regular GM, I'd like to get as much info as I can...

can anyone help me out please...?

Other than the 4 page article in Dragon 113 (?) I think the preview is all there is.

And the article isn't giving much away...

We also got several pages of d20F spaceships in the last issue of Dungeon.

THe neat thing about a futuristic campaign is that we've got oodles of TV shows and movies to draw inspiration from (moreso than fantasy I think). If Wizwezco doesn't produce supplements then it puts the burden of crafting "crunchy" stuff on the consumer (and the third-party publishers), but I don't think anybody will have to worry about coming up with campaign ideas. For individual adventures, just choose an "episode" of your favorite Sci-Fi show and run with it...

That's what I meant... sorry, dungeon not dragon.

I kinda agree... I don't really need the acres of books for d20 Future I've got for DnD (I don't really need the books for DnD either).
