D20 Modern Library; am I missing anything essential?

Ooh I'm pleased that the Future Soldier's Battlefield Handbook made the list! Should be lots of juicy rules in there useful for a post-apoc game (or any d20 Modern/Future game for that matter). I'm currently writing the next in that line with a Rise of the Machines campaign model ... might be handy.

Yeah, this is one of those occasions where a good-sized library comes in handy.

For instance, one of my bad guys for the previously-mentioned Black Wire Coalition is a "General" of sorts. He uses material from the D20 Modern Core book (Base class) D20 Future (Feats, equipment), The Future Soldier's Battlefield Handbook (The War Criminal and Warmaster feat & advanced class respectively) wears Marauder armor from IDA's Battle Armor book, and commands unwilling troops with the Children of the Metal Gods advanced class from Foundationists/Metal Gods by RPG Objects and a few (just added) C-Aug soldiers from Modernized. His personal weapons are a binary propellant rifle from EN Publishing's Blackhammer Firearms line, and a shape-memory knife from the shape-memory polymers book. Okay. That's material from 6 different companies, and the number is probably going to be higher once the minions are done being designed.

Oh, and if Rise of the Machines is anything like GURPS Reign of Steel, I'll be very interested indeed to see it.

That amount of combined material in one game makes me happy. Very, very happy.

(especially the use of the C-Aug Soldier... I wrote that baby myself).

Oh, Weapons of Power Armor Destruction 4 just came out... since you've been picking up that line, I think you should check it out. Lots of nifty power armor offerings in this one.

Weapons of PA Destruction 4 is on my wish list already. (By the way, if you want to see what said Nasty NPC looks like, stats-wise, I'll be happy to post him and his 5-person squad of "bodyguards")

I am! I'm intrigued by this monster ... especially with the inclusion of the Warmaster class. Should be a nasty piece of work.

Okay. This is a placeholder post, then. When I finish the final statting and formatting, I'll post him. (He'll be 100% Open game content, too, so as to avoid IP issues with WotC.)

The Menace Manual is divided into three sections. With the SRD, you get the Non Product Identity Critters, but you miss out on the Characters and the Orginizations, which are just as useful (or moreso, if you're running a monster-light game).

That's interesting to know. I have the Menace Manual, and I feel it's among the best monster/adversary books ever written. This is mostly due to the fact that it includes organizations and teams/groups of NPCs, and additional "generic" NPCs. If it was just comprised of monsters, I don't think I'd have found it nearly so interesting or inspiring.

The Game Mechanics: Future Player's Companion (Robot Familiar rules, Mutations)
It's nice to see the FPC get some props...in particular, the robot familiar rules. From author to consumer, thanks!

1. Sword's Edge Publishing's Roles & Classes line. I just wish they'd released it sooner, like back when I was doing the initial planning for my game. I've retrofitted NPCs to make use of the material in this line. The Covert, Capable, and Combat heroes are NOT to be missed.

I get back from Scotland, all tired and ready to drop, and then I read this. Wow. Thanks for not only including SEP in such illustrious company (that's not sarcasm, I'm really proud to be on that list with those peers) and then have our R&C as #1 in your rundown of PDFs.

I don't know what to say except thanks. And here I thought the fun was over when the plane left Glasglow!
