Daggerheart General Thread [+]

Apparently I’m not keeping up with CR. They’re doing a few live show in Australia using PCs from C2 and C3 converted to Daggerheart. That’ll be interesting. To me that screams they’re switching to Daggerheart for C4.

I suspect the viewing number for Age of Umbra will be a factor. If they are ‘good’ (whatever that means, but they probably have a way of analysing and comparing) then maybe they will make the leap. The sales numbers for the core set are probably a factor, too, and they seem to be ‘gang busters’ to break out an old superlative.

The Australia shows presumably aren't Daggerheart. As far as we know the Indianapolis show, now confirmed as starring the C3 PCs, is still the first official Daggerheart one shot in Exandria.

The actual play numbers are on track to do better than their other recent miniseries by far and maybe even the finale of C3.

No way to really know the sales numbers for the Daggerheart core set, but all their online stores sold out in 4 days. When the wider release landed on Jun 3, it took another few days to sell out on places like Amazon. All the local game stores were out in days. The bigger book stores that had it sold out in days. I can't imagine they ordered a small amount initially.

Well...

The Australia shows will feature the C2 and C3 PCs. No mention of system, but it's specifically a two-parter. So it could use Daggerheart while still keeping the Indy show as the first one shot. Or it could be their big goodbye to 5E.

The Indianapolis show is Bell's Hells using Daggerheart.

The New York show will be Jester and Fjord's wedding.

That flyer for the shows has a character (top, right) who looks to be a firbolg in the style shown in the DH core book. Are there any 5e races which look like that? I’m not aware of any but don’t get into 3PP ancestries.

And maybe a simian, bottom left? Again, I’m not aware of a 5e race like that. Perhaps they are just a gnome, the image is less clear.

The 5E firbolg is the same, basically, as the Daggerheart firbolg. The character is Caduceus Clay, one of Taliesin's C2 characters. The official art is here:

Bottom left is Laudna. Marisha's human character for C3. She has pointy ear jewelry for spoilery reasons.

I was meaning this character

Matt described a 5e firbolg a bit imprecise so Liam, I think, assumed they looked like cows. And then they and the fan art just ran with that so that's how firbolgs look in the non-WotC CR books.
