Daggerheart General Thread [+]

That’s great news for Daggerheart. Perkins in DP’s own Instagram post talks about expanding upon what DP has already put out as well as other games. And Travis quoted in the LA Times article: “When you look at the opportunity to bring in 15, 17 years of experience, pedigree, pipeline, timeline, management, all of those things from really the granddaddy system of them all, that is always extremely interesting. It’s a chance to level up everyone around here as well.” That very much sounds like they want steady product development.

I’ve seen some people suggest now 5E products are on the table - and certainly maybe that’s the case - but given how well DH is doing, I don’t think it’s out of the question for them to focus on Daggerheart.

It would make sense if they develop new IPs or expand their existing IP to put out products for both Daggerheart and 5E. But I really hope they focus on Daggerheart and other in-house games.

I'm obsessed with Amazon and their Daggerheart inventory for some reason. The "temporarily out of stock" tag is still gone, but the earliest delivery date was pushed back a week. Was Jun 21, now it's Jun 28.

I doubt we will have to.wait terribly long to find out what is on deck. GenCon probably.

It's now listed as "in stock" but the earliest delivery date has been pushed back again to July 1.

Question: How survivable is Daggerheart?

Like on a scale of AD&D (death around every corner) to 5th ed (cakewalk)
It’s exactly as deadly as an individual player wants. When you hit zero HP the player makes a death move. They pick one of: get a crit and die, survive but KO’ed and scarred, or a 50/50 get back up and fight or die outright. They always have that choice. There’s no instant death outside of the narrative. So swimming in lava is a bad idea.

This is overstating it a little. yes, death is largely in the hands of the player, but campaign frame rules (as we can see with Age of Umbra) can really impact how often players have to make that choice.
