I was talking with one of my friends that I ran the Quickstart adventure for at Gamehole Con and one of the surprising things they told me they liked was the foldable terrain and minis. The quickstart has some trees, rocks, and a wagon you are traveling in, in addition to all of the monsters and characters. That was interesting and something that surprised me. My arts and crafts skills are low, so it wasn't the best setup, but they liked it. It was an addition to the adventure that I wasn't sure why it was there, but now I know.

Is it weird that my local shop never has copies and doesn't even have a spot for them? I know they want the product (or did) but never seem to have any.

Is enough product still not being made?

A local indy bookstore has several on the shelves. The nearest Barnes & Noble stores have copies as well. Maybe it’s a shop problem.

Prepping to play in store this coming weekend, it's striking how few interesting d12s there are out there, separate from their full polyhedral set. Black Oak Workshop, for instance, has zero of them.
I ended up ordering two d12s from Chessex. Not flashy, but the green and blue dice I got don't look like the rest of my collection, so I can use them alongside whatever polyhedral set I bring to the game.

It's kinda fun how when you switch your entire frame of reference for your campaign to modern fantasy stuff, you don't have to worry about "oh should guns do more damage then blah blah."

Group figured they had enough clues to put stuff together last night and tried out the Theorize action finally. Worked really well, probably not far from how it does in The Between and other CfB games. Secured the opportunity they wanted to pursue (decided that the portrait they saw was indeed a portal which would lead them to the facility in faerie where unicorns were having their horns powdered down to make a drug), we framed into that location for an infiltration which went a little sideways and then we concluded with them hastily using the key they'd made to step through the unlocked portrait; a perfect ending point.

Only downside to having the game set ~19 years ago is we keep stopping to go "wait, when did that come out?Was X song around? Ooooh, should we be referencing..." lol.

Is it just me or is the 6th level splendor ability "Zone of Protection" really underwhelming? Thinking about adjusting it to just reducing the HP allies in the zone must mark by 1 if they would mark at least Major damage or something.

Just played an extremely chaotic in-store game of Daggerheart. I think I like the system, but the GM was new to it, didn't do stuff he was apparently supposed to (there were experiences listed on my character sheet that the GM was supposed to develop, and they were never created or mentioned) and we had multiple players who just spent the entire time disrupting the game and being passive-aggressive toward a table full of strangers. 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully the next game will go better.
