D&D General DALL·E 3 does amazing D&D art

This one is from ChatGPT. I just copied over a room description (with a few minor edits) and below is what it came up with. Can you guess where it is from? :)

( The name of the room is in the image title if you want to look, but it isn't the name of the adventure it is from. This particular room might have already been posted in this thread, but as it is well over 600 pages now, I'm not going back to look.)

Today I have just asked Grok to create a group based in the stereotipes of young-adult literature for girls from 70s with a light touch of comedy.

Elizabeth "Lizzie" Fairhair (Innocent Virgin - Sweet Valley) Basic Profile: Human, Cleric of Life (goddess of "Pure Reputation"), Healer/Light Tank"
She appears to be 16 years old. Chain armor with a magical pleated skirt (it doesn't break). Spells: Cure Wounds, Sanctuary ("No one touches me until marriage!").
Comic Personality: The "perfect girl" who prays before every fight: "God, is it a sin to kill bugbears if they're ugly?". In a party, she saves everyone but screams if she sees nudity: "Cover yourselves, perverts!". Hilarious Twist: Her "perfect boyfriend" is an NPC paladin who ignores her for being "too pure".
Iconic Quote: Don't look at my prayer book!"
My reputation! What if the goblin sees me in my underwear?"

Alice "Dopey" Smokeweed (Rebel with a Cause - Go Ask Alice) Basic Profile: Halfling, Rogue Arcane Trickster. Dagger poisoned with "goblin drug" (advantage in Stealth, disadvantage in Wisdom). Abilities: Sneak Attack, Mage Hand, Legerdemain to steal "family china".
She smokesdrinks "magic herbs" that make her sneeze spells

Experiments with potions that make her invisible... but she burps telltale puffs of smoke. Always getting punished: steals treasure and attracts guards. Redemption: "Family (the party) is my salvation... after this hit."

Comic Personality: Victim of goblin bullying → becomes a berserker bully: "I'm going to beat the crap out of you for calling me 'chubby gnome'!" Her "flaw": a cursed tattoo that makes her limp comically. Glow-up: rage makes her "glamorous" with inflated muscles. Mother NPC: overprotective fairy who sends packages of healing cookies.
Iconic Phrase: "First they push me, then I push back... RAGE ON, braces of vengeance!"

Healing Wor and Charms orcs with country-folk ballads. Farm lute (Vicious Mockery as southern slurs). Spells: Charm Person ("Marry me, minotaur!").

I have been playing with Z-Image-Turbo. It runs local on average GPU and gives great result. I was particularly impressed with this image, even if it's not RPG-related, that was posted as a demo:

I think I may start to be able to make photo props for contemporary/cthulhu adventures now.

I tried to test the model's limit with prompt understanding.

Here is my goal:

A wizard with sharp, angular, chiseled facial features sits on an ornate curule seat inside a dim canvas tent. The wizard wears a long dark robe covered with glowing arcane runes and thin metallic embroidery. A wide hood rests on the wizard’s shoulders, showing short, messy white hair. A metal staff leans against the curved leg of the chair. Warm lantern light hangs from a wooden pole and casts deep golden reflections across the tent fabric, creating stretched shadows behind every figure.

On the left and right of the wizard stand two human guards dressed in light leather armor reinforced with metal rivets. The male guard has short brown hair, a trimmed beard, and holds a long spear pointed toward the ground. The female guard has a tight braid, leather shoulder plates, and a round small shield strapped to her back. Both guards keep their eyes fixed on the kneeling warrior, their bodies tense, with their spears angled slightly forward. Behind them, the tent wall shows hanging banners with faded heraldic symbols.

In front of the wizard, facing him, a wounded warrior kneels on a carpet of red and brown woven patterns. His wrists are bound with heavy iron chains, and his head is lowered. His steel breastplate is cracked, and dust covers his leather boots. A deep cut marks his cheek, and dried blood darkens the edges of his leather gloves. The warrior’s long sword lies on the ground near him, out of reach, its blade reflecting a faint light from the lantern.

Behind the kneeling warrior, two green-skinned orcs in dark leather armor grip the chains. Each orc has wide shoulders, muscular arms, and visible tusks curving upward. One orc wears a metal pauldron on a single shoulder, while the other has tribal tattoos on his arms. Their eyes glow under the lantern light, and both keep a firm hold on the chains, pulling them tight. Their boots press heavily into the dusty ground.

In the back of the tent, a robed accountant with a simple belt pouch stretches out a leather coin purse toward the orcs. The assistant’s hood hides most of the face, revealing only a thin mouth and a single lock of dark hair. One hand holds the pouch, the other clutches a rolled parchment. A wooden table stands beside the assistant, covered with scrolls, a silver inkpot, and unlit candles. On the ground near the table lie scattered parchment sheets, a metal goblet, and a small open chest filled with coins.

The atmosphere is heavy and tense, with dense shadows filling the upper corners of the tent. A subtle cloud of dust floats in the lantern light. The canvas walls show faint marks of wind and sand. Outside the tent entrance, only darkness and a tiny trace of moonlight are visible, creating a dramatic contrast with the warm light inside.

To be honest, this is a difficult prompt. Even the top performing model, unfortunately closed-source, nano-banana, can approximate it, with a lot of errors:

  • The wizard isn't sitting on a curule chair (ok, that's a very specialized seat, but I was thinking of Vercingetorix's surrender in front of Caesar, so...),
  • The guards are all over the place,
  • The accountant looks like a thief (though some might think it's a feature...) and lacks his table,
  • The male guard holds is spear in the wrong way,
  • The orcs' armors are incorrect, th prisonner isn't wearing a pair of gloves,
  • and the prisonner doesn't look very depressed.
And that's the best result out of 4 tries with nano-banana.

Here's Z-Image-Turbo's results:

He (it?) reversed the guard groups among other problems.

Or in this one, he totally forgot an orc:

But for a model that takes a few seconds to run on a 4090, that's great, as one could just retry until it gets it right, and it just needs an ecosystem (regional prompting, edition...) to improve, as the model is quite new.

They're getting pretty good now, I rarely see too much in the way of weird artefacts like extra fingers or a sword where the blade doesn't match up with the handle.

Finally got it.

I could either have the human guards, or the orcs. So at some point I just cut and paste the humans over a picture with an orc in paint, then ran the image through "image to iamge" with a low denoise.
