Damage types from DDM

First Post
The Damage types listed are:
Acid
Cold
Fire
Lightning
Necrotic
Psychic
Thunder
Wound
Poison
Radiant

Resist X Damage: is also listed (subtracts X damage when taking that damage type)
Vulnerable X Damage: is also listed (adds X damage when taking that damage type)
Ongoing X Damage: is also listed (adds X damage every round)

Compared to 3.5:
Acid
Cold
Fire
Sonic
Lightning
Piercing
Bludgeoning
Slashing
Non-lethal

And then the less defined:
Force
Magic

Quite honestly, I think there could have been some fat trimming here but alas we have 8 damage types. Hopefully they don't subvert their 8 damage types and have additional untyped damage or another type thrown in on top that makes little sense (read- force damage).

Also, the resist X <damage type> seems like a good implementation of shoring up some of my gripes of DR/ER/Hardness being essentially three of the same rule. Now a fire elemental might look like: resist fire 30, vulnerable 10 cold and an earth elemental might resist wounds 30, vulnerable thunder 10 and an iron door might resist all 20...

I wonder if "Wound" will be the general type of Damage for all ordinary attacks. So instead of bludgeoning/slashing/piercing it is simply Wounding.
I'd think Wound is just a physical wound.
Then you have bludgeoning/slashing/piercing weapons that make Wounds. Simply the way the wound is made is different. Same as you can deliver Lightning damage through various means...

I also saw no references to non-lethal damage. Probably this has to do with the new concept of "bloodied". This could be a good thing...

With all these different damage types, do you think that abilities like Second Wind, and all those strange healings that different classes can come up with (like the warlord), do you think those only heal some kinds of damage? I mean, it wouldn't make sense that when you inspire allies you can heal and disinfect open wounds...

And what kind of name is Necrotic? Reminds me of "Technotronic" LOL :P
