DDM: Demon Web figures

But you said you don't buy minis by the case. So presumably your conclusions are based on a relatively small sample of boosters. This tends to come up each time a new set is released. Someone complains that the distribution can't be random based on the few boosters they bought, and others (who bought far more) come in to say no, it appears to still be random.
I didn't say that the distribution wasn't random, just that it wasn't as random as it used to be. This conclusion is based on other people's complaints, including my friend's and he has bought far more booster packs than I have (though never an actual case), as well as my own limited experience (I've bought most of my minis as singles on ebay).

I could very well be wrong and I have already acknowledged that. But at the very least there is the sensation that the distribution has changed (my friend thinks they've decreased the number of different commons that go into a given barrel from which the guys who pack the boosters on the assembly line grab minis ...).

Peter is a great person. I trust him with this line, completely... He is serious when he is asking for constructive advice...
100% agree. Peter knows his minis.

So far, this set doesn't seem that appealing. The only ones that I've seen that I like are rares (shadow flayer and exarch of bahamut) and will be too expensive to get.
Uhm, MOST the figs you have seen so far ARE rare ;). All the rares got spoilered in one go, while most the uncommons and commons are yet to be revealed . I'll admit i am feeling a bit bitter since there are so many cool looking but too pricey for me to afford rares rares in this set.

As for comments on "this miniature should be common, uncommon, or rare" -- anything with clear plastic must be uncommon or rare (that's why the stirge is uncommon), complicated multipiece miniatures such as dragons need to be rare, etc.
Sorry bout harping on that subject  It is just when i see a rare, I see a mini i won't be able to afford a dozen of ;)

Obviously, I'm working on getting quality as high as possible, but things do move slowly. (I was hired in Jan of this year to work on the miniature line, so this was the first set I had any real influence on the paint jobs; doing the best I can, but there are a ton of economical factors including the price of the dollar, shipping costs, manufacturing costs in a booming chinese market, etc.)
Oh most the minis look do look quite good*, and the all the commons I have seen so far from this set look really good. Especially the Encumbered Thief and Human Redshirt Archer.

I am always open to suggestions for miniatures to produce.
Large uncommon monsters are a godsend, the more the better. If ALL of a set's uncommon figs were large uncommons, that would be Awesome, though that is probably unfeasible

And if those large uncommon monsters can fit a rider on their backs, that is a plus.

Keep figure stances wide. Any mini easily placed on a mount has added value. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/NB_Gallery/Hobgoblin_Marshal.jpg

A Common Legion Devil if that not already in the works.

Please keep the spikes and bonespurs off the dire animals.

*What is up with the Solamith? Are they supposed to be that color now?

I'll second frankthedm's suggestions, and add these:

Molydeus

Avariel (male and female)

Cooshee Dog (Forgotten Realms)

Shade (like the one in the 4E & 3E Forgotten Realms Campaign Guides)

Foo Dog/Lion/Horse (like the one the samurai is riding on the original Oriental Adventures cover)

Rakastas and Lupins (from Mystara/Red Steel)

Arcane (from Spelljammer but I use them in my FR games)

I believe a Molydeus was done by Ral Partha about a decade ago, but I'm pretty sure the others have never been made as minis.

I would love to see the mini sets do stages of PC minis; such as a Heroic, Paragon and Epic version of the same mini. I recall another metal mini manufacturer doing this years ago, and I think it would work quite well with the DDM line. Of course you wouldn't have to do all the levels for one mini in one set, you could stagger them through future releases.

First of all, of course, another agreement on "more non-rare dragonborn" - when they're rare, it's hard enough to get one for PCs, even harder if you also want to throw in some NPCs.
A Common Legion Devil if that not already in the works.
To expand on that: Basically every creature that's a minion should have one common representation at some point, if possible (obvious exceptions: the large minions, but something in the uncommon slot would be fine as well).

Cheers, LT.

I love the Eberron-specific stuff and go out of my way to pick it up. Things like Inspired, quori, daelkyr, dragonhawks, warforged, shifters, and Valenar & Aerenal elves would be A+ in my books! Bonus points for anything that hasn't been done as a female yet. (I play with lots of girls, and they like to see female enemies.)

I don't know about every minnon, but I would LOVE Legion Devils, even uncommon would be good, but common would be better

Cooshee Dog (Forgotten Realms)

Shade (like the one in the 4E & 3E Forgotten Realms Campaign Guides)
2 more great suggestions
the Gargantuan Orcus figure released? I would pay top dollar for that beastie, especially now that he's the top dog in the 4E Monster Manual.
I bet I need this mini to finish out the adventure path runing right now that started with Keep on the Shadowfell...

Also as a GM with female PCs I will also say Female Teiflings and Dragonborn would be good. Also more Shadar Kai...and new Genissi

Me too. I'm eagerly awaiting the announcement of E3 - Die Orcus Die. ;)

How about a shadar-kai witch mini based on the pic in the MM? I'd like one of those.
