DDM: Demon Web figures

I am always open to suggestions for miniatures to produce.

Players of the dragonborn are getting the shaft. How many female dragonborn? How many common dragonborn? How many uncommon? Way too much empahsis on rare male fighting style dragonborn.

Other bits would be looking at actual adventurers WoTC prints and making a few different types to go with the adventure. Because WoTC is now giving different monsters of the same breed different names, it should be simplicity itself.

In addition, fix the cards. Make them useful to the role player. Make sure that they have xp values and are actually using the final version of the game.

Thanks for replying, Peter. However, I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I wasn't saying that we could once get a full set from one case but rather that we could get most of a set from one, which, according to some people, is no longer true.

Huh? This hasn't changed recently. As far as I know, a case still gives you all the commons, all the uncommons and half of the rares. It's never been better.

Huge sets don't work quite so well, but they never have.

Cheers!

As I said, I'm just going by what I've seen other people saying. I have never bought a case of minis myself (as tempting as it is). In terms of buying by the case, maybe they were just referring to Against the Giants, which is a Huge set. That being said, I've seen lots of people say that the distribution of both DoD sets isn't good -- and my friend is adamant that it has changed for the worse (in fact, this is how he put it in a recent e-mail: "I will not buy the new DnD packs because wizards packs them all the same, there are a few variations with a rare being the only different mini."). The number of snaketongue cultists, animated statues and flamesnakes the two of us have gotten out of our combined Desert of Desolation purchases is pretty telling ...

So, many of the images of the figures for this set have been revealed. What are people's thoughts?

For myself, perhaps its the money, prehaps it having nearly all the figures up to now, but very little there screams- BUY ME NOW!.

What are your thoughts?

So far, this set doesn't seem that appealing. The only ones that I've seen that I like are rares (shadow flayer and exarch of bahamut) and will be too expensive to get.

I'll pipe in for the common or uncommon dragonborn.

I'd also like to see minis tie into the adventures more, such as norkers, a phalagar (weird rare probably), and other creatures you might only see in a module.

Doesn't seem very random to me. :p ;)
But you said you don't buy minis by the case. So presumably your conclusions are based on a relatively small sample of boosters. This tends to come up each time a new set is released. Someone complains that the distribution can't be random based on the few boosters they bought, and others (who bought far more) come in to say no, it appears to still be random.

At today's preview they say Skull Lord was created for MMV... that monster wasn't from Creature Collection before MMV?

- More common skeletons (like the Leggionaire Skeleton)
- More normal wolves. There's only Ebayed Harbingers around...
- Gibberlings (FR4E is here)
- Arcanoloth, please... call it Arcanodemon if you want :p
- Lynnorms (MMII 3.5, also mentioned at MM4E)
- Nimbleweight (?)
- Redcap!
- More monsters from MMII and III, please (if possible).
