Dealing with Improved Trip.

Hmm. My campaign features mostly humanoid or human opponents... but even with Enlarge Person or Righteous Might and Divine Power, tripping was not always a good idea. One lucky roll and a bad one for the PC, and you wasted a possibility to do damage... which is sometimes much more important.

I'm guilty!

I did the same thing in a campaign I was playing in 5 or 6 months ago.

Fighter2/barbarian 2 Combat Expertise, Improved trip, Combat Reflexes and using the Exotic Weapon: Spiked Chain, which has 10' reach and can hit adjacent targets...

Eventually I started ignoring the touch AC rule and swung at their normal AC since it is way too easy to initiate such a powerful move, and still was the dominant PC in any combat.

I don't know if its just me, but grapple and trip are too easily accomplished.
